Brandywine maple not looking to great.

Transplanted a brandywine and an autumn blaze maple tree in early spring this year. Both seemed to gain a little stress on the leaves fron what i can guess was the widy ride hime in the back of the truck. The autumn blaze has recovered but the brandywine is refusing to. The leaves are slowly wilting/dying and falling off. The branches are still green and has small green buds for the last month but not developing. Any insight? Pictures followed

Northtexas, Actually, you can get it at Metro Maples in south Ft Worth. The owner is the one that discovered Fire Dragon. Pretty much the "expert" on shantung maple in the nation and apparently the only one that comes up with cultivars. I would get it like now (actually this Saturday since that's the only time it's open to public from 8am-2pm). Metro Maples seems to sell out Fire Dragon pretty quickly so I'd just get it ASAP. Mine is small. I bought it in 2004 and it came as a sapling, probably 12" tall? Here it is in 2006 and it's not 3' yet. No surface roots would be the good news! :) I do love it, though. It's little leaves are a gorgeous scarlet. I have a 'Somerset' nearby, which is a tiny bit faster growing, and its leaves are a very great, complimentary red. I wasn't in a position then to purchase anything but saplings and focus on the future. Nowadays, I'd also go for the one you found online. Let me know what you think as time goes by? Christine

I water it every other day. I stick the water hose out there for about 15-20 minutes. Have about a 2 to 3' radius of mulch around tree not up to

where are you .. big city name ...

and do i understand that you moved it fully leafed out.. in the back of an uncovered truck.. how far.. and how fast ... how long of a drive???

if so ... im surprised it looks as good as it does ...

ugly as they are.. you have functioning leaves ... and its not going to look any better until next spring when it releafs ...

water deep into late fall ...

imo.. fert is not an issue.. nor a response to such ...
