As a follow up: I know we can route them in. My husband thinks routing is the best option. The original installer told me it wasn’t necessary and it was working well till we messed w it. Just looking into it before going w the routing option.

Jospeh Corlett thank you. I thought about that too. But I’m also still baffled by why they fit perfectly when the installer did it and we can’t seem to get the same fit. We didn’t change anything. We swapped out the existing damaged ones for the same exact ones but new replacement pieces from the company. Should be the exact same size.

If we do decide to increase the gap between each drawer, is that something easy for us to do on our own?

Your hinges and drawer guides are likely adjustable. At this point fully adjustable cup hinges and drawer guides are fairly standard. So see if that is an option first.

ETA: I suspect the angle of the screw is moving the handle up a hair. If you can't adjust the drawers I would simply loosen the screws and retighten them one time making sure the screw head engages the bottom of the hinge hole first and pulls the drawer handle down into the cabinet a bit. Not a lot, you just want it to snug up to the cabinet.

Thanks bry911. Yes I was avoiding adjusting the drawer itself since it was working fine till I tried to install the replacement parts.

I think I will try this screw angle technique. How exactly does one achieve that? Maybe I need to use a screw driver by hand at the end rather than a drill driver?

did you have your drawers loaded previously? I had the same thing happen. I added the pulls when the drawers were empty, then added heavy pots to one drawer and the drawer below it would no longer close.

Daisychain the drawers have some light things in them but they were closing w these items in them before trying to switch the handles out

It depends upon how handy you are. It's more art than science. You just have to fool with it.

Presuming that the edge pull is identical, I would assume the holes in the pull were not drilled accurately. I would use a slightly larger drill bit to enlarge the hole to get you some wiggle room.

Even in the same screw hole there will be some play, especially with short and/or coarse thread screws. People have a tendency to screw down by raising the tool up, this is even worse for electric drivers. This can cause the bevel on the screw to engage the recess a bit high and lift the handle a bit.

So, if you don't want to adjust your drawer glides and hinges on each cabinet, back out your screws and retighten by hand. Be sure you screwing slightly up, rather than slightly down. You are only trying to make the screw engage the bottom of the recess before the top. Too much angle and you will make the problem worse.

You might also want to check the top of the handle to ensure it is flat and 90 degrees. When these handles are packed they can slide together and open up the angle. You can fix that by mounting a handle on a board and using a ratcheting strap to bring it back flat or true, but it is probably easier to return them if that is the problem.
