Making progress! Busy day so far. Second coat of paint, one hockey game, interior and exterior window cleaning, and some more pictures. New color is BM Aura shimmer. It reads blue in real life, almost a matching blue to the Vancouver Day, in a good way. I don't find it conflicts next to the brown tile. The white paint is much better I think but I think the trim work needs work. I still think the windows are a little top heavy, especially with the top trim piece. It could be more rectangular. That said, there are a lot of rectangles in this view. Perhaps something to introduce a curve? I spent some time last night looking at window trim on Houzz. It looks like you have beautiful wood doors, door trim and beams. Don't know what you have around the windows (not pictured). Looks like the stairs could use a bit of TLC. If I were you I would not be in a hurry to paint or refinish the wood. First year in the home should be figuring out what works, doesn't work, how the home functions and where to sink your money. Prime your walls - live with them for a bit and decide if you really want white walls. I know all the pictures on the internet today are white rooms, but they also have studio lighting. Not all homes look good with all white walls. White needs lots of light to really shine. Often a light neutral color looks better than white if you don't have giant windows, skylights or other great lighting. My last home had between 6 and 16 linear feet of windows in each room - natural daylight galore and I had white walls. My current home has more normal sized windows in most rooms and I am painting the walls that were white to something more appropriate for the amount of light. The white just isn't pretty with out sufficient light. With the walls all primed you can look at flooring and paint and make a better decision on what works best in your new home.

Thank you for sharing the pictures and the current paint colors. I pulled your two paint colors, filtered for colors that were lighter but not too white. I also filtered for colors with a bit less chroma (more neutral, less colorful) and because when you go lighter and less colorful the orange yellows go a bit pink, I also increased the hue to yellow through green. My database does not have all the BM colors - just selected colors that I have added. I do not prefer SW over BM, but SW gives you all the data and BM makes me look up each color one at a time and add them to my database, so until I have time, I just add them on an add needed basis. These are the colors that I would start if this were my home and I wanted to modernize. (Top 2 are your current colors). If you play with these and find that you like something but would like it a little lighter, a litter browner, a little greener or a little anything else we can try to find another color that is closer to what you want.

I think it's easier to use one color if there is no clear delineation to allow color changes. I don't know how easily you can see the color of the granite with that yellow casting its shadow over the surface, but I'd be tempted to prime out the yellow to give a blank slate for better color selection. Thankfully, the previous owners made appropriate floor color choices, it makes your job much easier. I'd lean toward a soft white for the space. For the open spaces, you may consider walls, ceilings, doors and trim all the same color with the trim and doors in a different sheen.
