Comments (41)San, SIL just started working this January at the bank and is only working part time as it is. She had been working 2 other jobs all part time in addition to this one so I know she is exhausted. Good news is that baby and mommy get to go home today already. I bet they are ready for the time to be out of the hospital. I just hope that someone can stay and help out for awhile. My mom stayed with my sis and I with our 2 c=sections each for about a month. And let me tell you that was heaven.(don't ask Dan what he thought of it:) But since she is a daughter in law she is afraid to offer to stay.She offered to stay in the hospital overnight to change diapers, and give a pacifier or sugar water to hold out feedings a little bit ( I know it was great when she did this for me) but my SIL promptly announced that she would figure it out and handle everything on her own. I know that when I came home mom was there to help, added to that with Hayden I had 6 weeks bed rest and a 2 and 4 year old that wanted to help) But I cried like a baby when it was time for her to go home. It was so nice having another adult there. My brother works Construction and works 60 hour weeks so won't be able to be at home. And now my sil's mom who was going to stay and help will be flying home on Monday leaving Becky at home alone with the baby, her first and she reaaly doesn't have a clue, not ever being one to be around babiies at all. Comments (32)I had someone do that to me last summer. I was selling a new and unopened inflatable waterslide we had and was meeting the guy about 15 miles from home since he was from the next county over. Once he got there, he examined the unopened box, said he'd take it and put it in his truck. Then he proceeded to try and short me $50 because it was 'all he had' and it wasn't worth anymore than that anyway. This was a new waterslide that retailed or $300 I was selling or $150 and after confirming the price via e-mail and phone he tried to short me! He insisted he wasn't paying any more than $100 for it so I had him take it out of his truck and put it back in my van pronto! His 4 year old kid - who's birthday party it was for that afternoon! - was in tears and I felt very badly for him, but that money was earmarked for something for my own kids and I couldn't help that he had a real jerk for a Dad. Comments (9)I fully intend to 'hoover' over the snacks!!! The brownies just came out of the oven and smell soooo good! Still need to pack clothes (I did promise to bring some!) and the laptop in the morning. The sewing stuff is all ready to go...I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that it will all fit in Katherine's car. Spoke with camp this morning and they said weather was sunny and in the mid-high 70s during the day, feeling delightfully cool at the top of the mountain! 50s at night. Should be a fantastic weekend in that regard. So wish more were joining us this weekend! It's going to feel strange only having 10! If you're on Facebook, you might look for YMCA Camp Cheerio and like their page. They update with pictures every day or so, and you may see us or our quilts! Safe travels to everyone! Can't wait to feel the stress rolling off as we head down the highway and up the mountain. Comments (21)Hello Ruthie..... So happy you are back home! I was glad to read that you had the VATS surgery instead of the big, big incision. It will make healing that much easier I think. Are you scheduled for pulmonary rehab? That is so important to work at that. It makes all the difference! I didn't start it until almost 6 months after my surgery due to therapist being ill & myself out of state for awhile. But we finally got together & already I can feel the benefit of it. My SOB (shortness of breath)is not totally gone but I can at least make it up the stairs without needing to take a nap when I get in the house. Hang in there & keep those "lungs pumped"!
