For people who want their cats to be outdoors, but safe.
Comments (10)good for you! it makes such a difference for some kitties. i've known fellas who didn't care whether the door was open or not, but there are others who just HAVE to be out, and enclosures like yours are definitely the solution.... i used to work for a company called The Cat's Den....she created a whole business on this concept....and it sells very well....you can pick an existing design, or custom make something from the size of the preverbial breadbox to enormous castles with runs and tunnels that have more square footage then my home!! and most of the time, people do choose to put a cat door in a window and attach the enclosure to that window.....then they can come and go as they please.... the cat's den products are pretty pricey for most of us, but i still encourage people to do whatever they can if they have a cat who pines for the outdoors.....while i was working for the cat's den, i heard so many feedback stories about the behaviour changes in cats that suddenly were given outdoor access again.....even overall health can improve.... i'm sure you'll see the benefits, too!! lisa p.s. using cedar planks not only allows it to survive most climates, but it acts as a flea deterrent while they're outside....sorry.....can you tell i used to be her sales rep? :) i'm really not pushing the company......just the idea.....honest!!!! Comments (25)outright fighting is not the only way they show hostility Funny you should say that, Breenthumb. I came downstairs this morning and discovered that one of the cats had peed on top of an antique table during the night. I have a tendency to blame Annie, but this time she was locked up, and so was Rocky. Pogo and Annie were so skittish this morning. Pogo usually spends some time in my bedroom after I get up, but he didn't stay this time. Peachy was afraid to come downstairs. They were nervous, and I was nervous. I played with Rocky a lot before Pogo and Peachy joined us downstairs, hoping to discharge some of his energy. He has an abundance of it. Then a few minutes ago Peachy (much smaller than Rocky) hissed at him, and he took a step toward her. That was all it took to make me want to put an end to this situation, at least for now. So I put Rocky outside. I know he'll want to come in. I have loved seeing him enjoying the comforts of home. But we'll try this for awhile, and continue to give the situation some thought. At least in the warm weather Rocky will have lots of human companionship outdoors, as we're a family of gardeners. I cancelled the vet appointment. Annie has never been easy to handle, and when I showed up she hid under the bed. The last thing I want is to risk another cat bite. I changed the dressing this morning, and my hand and wrist are swollen, red, and hot. I hope the Augmentin takes care of the infection. My thanks again to all....See Moreplease help me re-gain my faith in people
Comments (25)Praise God! Persistence wears resistance! I am so proud for you! FWIW: Hired a small business cabinet maker that was incorporated and $crewed us...ended up in court. We won, but he had changed his business name, so I got nothing but the shoddy work he did. He has $10K of our money and I've had to spend over $30K correcting and modifying cabinets, painting, etc. This bozo is still operating in the same location, too! (Florida needs to have all contractors doing more than $5K worth of work LICENSED. I believe all cabinet makers should be licensed and bonded by the State.) What I learned after shelling out over $30K more than I had planned: I will NEVER hire anyone that does not have the financial backing to correct mistakes or pay me should we end up in court. I will seek out the business of big stores because they will not be changing their business name. They will have to hire the smaller companies for cabinets and the like. Those 'big box' stores look better and better to me all the time. FWIW #2: Buy granite from the fabricator directly and not through the big box stores. Save about $25% or mor doing so....See MoreSa, Cattyles, other cat people?
Comments (104)Sas, I'm so glad your crew likes it. My guys just devour it. I still haven't found anything else that they will eat so I rotate the lamb, venison, and the rabbit and lamb.. I think I will start getting the lamb on autoship from Chewy because their price is 2.61 a can for lamb and 3.17 for the other flavors. Our local pet food store charges 3.05 for all flavors so it is more economical for me to buy it local except for the lamb. I wish I could find another food that they would like as much so I could give them a can of Z.P. at one feeding a can of something less expensive at the next. It sure hurts the wallet when two cases of food runs $75, and a case only lasts six days. I bought a few different brands for them to try but they just turn their nose up at it so my local SPCA is going to get a donation of canned food from me....See MoreBestyears
