Mini powder room update/refresher with pics
Comments (10)I actually painted one of the doors (to the garage so it was way too heavy for me to tackle) without taking it down first this weekend and was amazed at how great the gray color of the primer looked, especially against the gray walls and white trim. If I wouldn't have already painted a few others black, I would have been tempted to go out and pick up some gray paint to finish them off. Just a thought for the faint of heart who aren't ready to commit to the black....See MoreNeed help decorating my small powder room
Comments (20)More info on the tile....in the questions for that photo, they say the tile is Puka Iridescent. I had a feeling that Puka was Sonoma Tilemakers but I couldn't check last night. So I have found it in their Vihara line of glass tiles. I actually like their Silk colors better than their Iridescent colors as an iridescent has other colors that probably won't work with your cream and brown granite. I had samples of Oceanside glass tiles in the polished, matte, and iridescent tiles, and just a touch of the iridescent wouldn't be bad in a custom mix. They have many colors, shapes, and sizes like Vihara. Your problem will be that you only need one or two sheets of tile for your backsplash and many places have minimum orders. https://sonomatilemakers.com/vihara/...See MoreBasement Powder Room Refresh
Comments (4)I'd opt for replacing the unit with a white pedestal sink and adding a wall cabinet above the toilet to make up for the lost storage. That sink is not worth saving and there won't be much you can do to the cabinet to distract from it. Look at a Kohler Memoirs Sink which is reasonably priced. And Pottery Barn makes some cute wall cabinets for the bath....See MorePowder Room Refresh
Comments (8)@everdebz, thank you for your replies! The room measures approximately 5' (toilet and vanity opposite each other) x 6' (door and window opposite each other). Therefore, the wall behind the toilet is the only wall that is entirely free and allows for the 5' x 8' rectangular mural to be hung in a solid piece without any cutouts or odd angles. The toilet will only block the bottom right corner of the mural and won't require it to be cut to be hung. Even though it's a more typical placement, the mirror wall doesn't provide enough wall space to showcase the mural--I would have needed to pick a different pattern. I went through the motions of a typical bathroom visit, and there were at least 3 times when I'd directly face the mural, and its reflection would be clearly visible when sitting on the toilet and standing at the vanity washing my hands. :-)...See MoreJ D
