Comments (1)We just replaced our entire first level with Supercore from We Ship Floors. We have kids, not dogs, but I prefer it over tile. If you need waterproof and you don't want it to scratch at all, look at tile. Otherwise, the SPC will be a good choice....See MoreSeeking opinions regarding SPC and WPC luxury vinyl planks
Comments (2)If you haven’t already done so, Google—SPC versus WPC and read about the differences. SPC is more stable than the WPC, and as you mentioned, the SPC can withstand temperature variables and sun better than the WPC. If you get an SPC with an attached pad, I don’t think you will find it to be uncomfortable to stand on. We are putting down an SPC product, Supercore, from WeShipFloors.com, and I put several planks of it in front of my kitchen sink and stove and left it for several days. I did not find it to be uncomfortable at all. I love that it‘s not slippery like some of the WPC products I had samples for. The SPC will be able to handle heavy furniture better than the WPC which is another reason we chose the SPC. WeShipFloors.com sells the Adura products as well as the SuperCore. I suggest you give them a call-Alan or Zoe-and they will be glad to answer any questions you have. They are located in Tennessee. 1-844-356-6711 Good luck with your retirement apartment. They are in the higher priced range of $9 - $12/sf...because they have to be shipped from Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, etc. Vinyl Design 16 / LICO AG - SCHWEIZ - SWITZERLAND - FLOORS Start with the link above...and look around....See MoreEngineered wood flooring vs SPC (vinyl)
Comments (1)We had engineered hard wood in our last house. The dog scratched it to bits. A door leaked too… it was sold as we could sand and refinish. Not true. The level to which we’d need to refinish was not possible to make it look good again. We put some vinyl in our current house. Not sure I’d use it in the kitchen or bathroom, but it’s holding up rather well. I just dust it and that’s about it. Biggest problem is room transitions. Our bathroom ended up much higher so bridging that gap was a wooden transition… not ideal....See Morekrisclark3
