Furniture Design Dilemma living room

Help with living room design

I’m buying furniture for a new apartment and would love suggestions for a coffee table, end table, and tv table to match the space and my existing furniture (im keeping two black chairs, pictured beige sofa, and pictured beige rug). i am also open to a new bookshelf and would love a bar cart. no big design style preference. the kitchen is more sleek modern but id like living room to be warmer

I would skip replacing the shelf and the tv stand if that meant you could get a larger rug :)

Line the rug up with the middle window and place the front legs of sofa on the rug.

Put the two black chairs in the bay with a table and lamp; better yet, a chandelier.

use the ottoman for a coffee table, adding a tray on top; this is from Target and you can use it as a tray or a shelf and it matches the wood on the chair arms:

This is great. I think I wanted to be different. Everyone has coffered ceilings in their Craftsman homes around here. I saw some cove lit trays in some condos in NYC and they looked really good... so I was incorporating that feature. The great room has 14ft ceilings, so it is not typical height for a living room. Based on comments, I am going to simplify the design. Probably just do one or two (one dining and one living) cove lights to separate the rooms. What do you think? See attached photos.

A natural colored performance fabric chair. You don't want a sea of dark leather. The space is tight so you will have to be very mindful of scale and size. I would not choose something with a bulky arm as it is going to take up visual space and make the room feel cramped. Is the TV console on the left staying where it is? What does the other side of your room look like? I would like to see if there is any opportunity for a better layout.

The piano looks awkward overlapping the windows. 2 chairs would be much better in that location. Pianos must NOT be placed: Near a window. Windows can throw off heat, let cold air and warm air in, and are subject to changes in atmospheric conditions, temperature, and humidity from the outside, daily. These constant changes greatly cause your piano's tuning stability to suffer, and cause parts to swell or to shrink, which result in a poor mechanical condition and performance, whereas your piano's preservation suffers overall, at the very least.

Thanks!! I like the chairs in the bay window a lot. Will probably move the ottoman to the bedroom and get a traditional coffee table… maybe a wood top with black legs?
