Sherwin Williams vs. Ben. Moore vs. Behr
Comments (118)Out of the choices Above I'd say BM is your best bet. Behr products are too watered down and their white is more of a gray so that effects the way the colors comes out when tinted. Stay away from SW they are a bit better than behr but they over price for the amount of TITO in their paint as well. BM offers a beautiful color selection and has an exellent product. HOWEVER I would love to put Dunn Edwards in the running here. We have an amazing selection of nearly 2,000 colors (not mention custom color mathces we can do), a superior paint product and a FREE Professional Color Advisor service (that's me) . Plus we have a ton of "kill test" listed on our website and in our store comparing each of our products to the competition. (: but like I said BM is a nice choice!...See MoreSherwin Williams Snowbound Paint Throughout?
Comments (22)I agree the Snowbound will look brighter against the White Dove. I would caution regarding the Snowbound on the ceiling, I considered it and had the painter paint many large samples in different areas and it took on a taupe/pink tone against my SW Crushed Ice walls and all dark wood floors and this is in an area that faces the west with a lot of afternoon sun. I ended up going with the SW Ceiling paint and its is awesome no matter what color is on your walls, it hides the imperfections if any in your ceiling too. I was originally concerned with the Ceiling paint conflicting with walls in some rooms painted Snowbound and cabinets up to the ceiling in Snowbound but no issue at all where the wall or cabinets meet the ceiling....See MoreSherwin Williams Paint Matching, are they really all the same?
Comments (186)@Jennifer Hogan We have compared SW's sample for Simply White with the sample we got from Home Depot for the Simply White (that we also have painted on the wall), as well as the trim that is from Kelly Moore (a local store) in Simply White. It "simply" doesn't match (pun intended). Honestly, the difference is so substantial that I can't fathom how they could consider it a match. The cheaper stuff from Home Depot is actually a much closer match than SW even got close to. Kelly Moore is the best match. SW tried today to match it closer and still failed. So, we are going to go back to Kelly Moore and pay a bit extra to get another sample in the eggshell (trim is semi-gloss) and compare it. Near certain it will be the homerun since they got it right on the trim, zero hint of green and all the trim has been painted throughout the house. I do appreciate it though & completely understand. I can even understand certain times of the day seeing more color but there is such a difference that my husband, who rarely notices colors, immediately asked why the walls were green and the trim was not. He thought I had bought 2 different colors of paint completely! It has been quite the saga. Long story short, the best thing to do when dealing with whites is to pick a color of white from the company you are using so that you know you'll be getting exactly what you pick, and not what they 'promise' they can match!...See MoreSherwin Williams Paint Type
Comments (7)They say the flat is as washable as any other of the line so IMO a no brainer I like matte finishes for walls. I am wondering why gray for all the trim it seems limiting to me when choosing a wall color. BTW that paint will still need a primer for new drywall....See Moretrendtown
