I’m a little late to this board, but we used Repose in our old house that we sold. We used It as a whole house color inside and it turned out very pretty. It does reflect a little different in each room bc of windows and lighting. That house was 1600 sq ft, the dining room was very small and it looked great in there, made the room look much larger. All of that said, we just finished painting our current dining room in Repose today. We covered red walls. The first coat I noticed a lot of green undertones, and the color looked much darker. We have the second coat on and it’s pretty, but I’m not feeling like it looks as grey as it did at the other house. Depending on where you stand in the room, it looks grey, greige, or more tannish looking, I don’t know if the mix was off a little or if it’s just the lighting of the room. It is north facing, which is apparently not the best place to put Repose. I’m going to see how it looks in a couple of days and may try another grey.

The other option would be to get the repose gray lightened by 30% or so, No, that's not an option. Think about this logically for a second. When you cut the colorant load, you aren't just affecting the value (lightness/darkness) of the color, you are affecting EVERY SINGLE PART of the color. Hue is affected. Value is affected. Chroma (colorfulness) is affected. LRV is affected. The whole color is affected, not just the part you don't like and want to change. In fact, it's possible to end up with a new color that is DARKER than the original color you started with. Cutting the formula does not guarantee a lighter color. There is no way to know what *part* of the color will be affected and by how much until you have it mixed, let it dry and look at it. And at that point you own the paint whether you like it or not. Repose gray was the lightest color on the swatch. SW 7631 City Loft and SW 6070 Heron Plume are very similar to Repose Gray, just lighter. Take a look at the chips and see if a lighter version of Repose Gray is really what you had in mind.

I struggled with the backsplash decision the most. It's a marble tile called Siberian Pearl from the Tile Shop. It goes very well with the Cambria Quartz IronsBridge countertop. I have a couple of friends who went with the white, and they love them. We have a lot of woodwork in the house and a stone fireplace so we wanted a warmer feel. Lighting also makes big difference.
