I think it doesn’t need any extra trim or stone. Maybe a brighter yellow door and lots more landscaping. Can you get new steps to be centered under your door?

I'd paint the cement foundation the same dark blue. I'd also consider painting your steps. that blah concrete really detracts from the overall look.

I don't think I"d choose that white/gray stone. I'd do slat cedar or redwood attached on one side.

you could paint your steps red, or the same blue as the house, and do some white like they've done here. this would look cool w/your dark blue and white borders. get some handrails too.

notice the wood again. and the simple flower beds. if you can redo your porch steps like this one, do it! and redo the walkway path in squares like shown here.

I would recommend a sidelight instead next to your door.

Plant some small evergreen bushes to anchor the house year round.

Personally, I don't like the look of tiny pieces of stone. I would paint those sections Benjamin Moore's Simply White. (It is bold. I tried gray and it wall dull.) Paint the door a green like Cornstalk.

I wouldn’t do fake stone. I would replace the fence-gate on the right with someting more modern and get rid of the little-cottagey stone work that is enclosing the flower beds. In general, I would focus on cleaning up the concrete entry way and path. I would be very tempted to rip out the concrete walk and replace it with a much wider walk of white pea gravel, maybe with concrete stepping stones or a concrete strip floating in it, maybe not, but have it flare at the door to create 2 walkways across the front of the house

I agree that stone is not the right choice. @Beth H gave you a lot of good alternatives. I like the idea of adding a side light to your front door to get more light inside the house. All of the softer light door colors suggested would be striking and perfect (red is also good even though it’s not a soft color). I love the lime green or a soft peach/pink color too.
Definitely redo the steps. Painting them and getting a new iron handrail is a great idea. (Beverly: who knew Amazon carries these??). Remove the concrete scalloped border in your landscaping as well. All of these suggestions will update and modernize your extremely charming house. The blue paint is FABULOUS!
