I would paint the cabinet crown moldings the same white as the cabinets.

Skippack Tile & Stone, thank-you... we looked more into it and will only be sealing the grout lines... which are 1/16 spacing. My question is does the grout have to be sealed under where my cabinets will be installed?

are your tiles that size or smaller? the smaller the tile, the worse the slivers will look. otherwise, do the bottom row just like they have in the picture. No less than half a tile for that bottom row. (more is better) It's better to deal w/the gap at the top under the cabinets, then to have a tiny sliver on the bottom row next to the countertop. At the very least, you could always run a very thin pencil liner in the gap right under the cabinets. but you aren't going to see this unless you crouch down and look. so even a gap of 1/8" will be ok. You could do a liner, or even a Schluter metal edge liner that matches the tile color this is a thick liner, but you could do something less obtrusive. just a thin liner in the same tile color. you could also run a piece of trim molding that matches your cabinet color. see this trim piece? (you would place it between the upper tile row and the bottom of your cabinets) then you'd paint it the same color as cab Are your tiles white like that? make sure and do a contrasting grout instead of bright white.

You said "I don't intend to change the black granite or back splash yet," Does that mean that you plan to change them relatively soon? The reason that I ask is that those are two of the three things that I would change, based on your pictures. The third thing is the undercabinet lighting. The blue color throws me off. If the wood floors in your kitchen run through the whole house, you will not want to change them (it looks like they run into the room behind the kitchen -- is that a pantry?) However, if they are in bad shape through the whole house, I would agree with my friend herbflavor above that you should consider that part of the project. Even if it means you have to wait and do the floors and kitchen at the same time when you can afford it all. Painting or refacing the cabinets will be as expensive, or more expensive, than changing the countertop and backsplash. A lighter countertop and backsplash would brighten the space. A calm quartz or even Corian would be my choice.
