This is going to be a boring trunk to some lol.. it just worked out to be very casual basics this time. I am actually very excited about three of the pieces and already know I will be purchasing them. There are often much more interesting pieces and colors.

I have included $$ not to be tacky lol.. but because RNmom said she is my size and is looking for wardrobe ideas. I will exclude them going forward if they aren't necessary. You'll find that I go high and low with my purchases. Some things are very cheap.. others are clear splurges. Trunk Club doesn't go too high $$ but there are definitely splurge pieces (at least for my budget).

The preview feature allows you to say, "no-- please don't send this" and provides a means for you to provide feedback. There's also a new "swap" feature that gives you some possible alternatives to choose instead.

This was the first item I swapped. It's Michael Kors synthetic fabric for $68. I don't care for cut out shoulders on me. I am fine with open shoulders but the cut out shoulders look dumb.

I swapped it for this $98 Eileen Fisher long sleeve cotton tee. (oh, I did ask for primarily cotton/linen)

I had asked for a light denim jacket-- I declined this Madewell (pinter wash) jacket only because I have 2 in this color. It is available in both Plus and Reg sizes and on sale for $70.80.

I had previously told them I LOVE this shirt-- and that i had many of them in the various colors (dupes in some colors). I was going to decline it because i am not kidding-- i might have 8 of them? 9? But I don't have this color and it is on sale. It's Treasure & Bond on sale in this color only for $31.20

I told them not to send me pants because I am losing weight and not likely to invest in pants until I have lost more. I did say they could sent a style that was forgiving with an elastic waist.. i was thinking Eileen Fisher casual pants.. but they suggested these $55 Zella shorts. I won't likely keep them but i will give them a try.

I really should have declined this BP sweater ($35) also as I am pretty sure it is cropped .. but it is all cotton so I decided to give it a try. (i already know I am purchasing 3 items so i was really lax about declining items in the trunk).

I requested this Kurt Geiger tote in gunmetal (second photo) but they only had the tan and a kelly green. I opted for the tan. It is $240

Then they added 3 shoes to my trunk.. from top to bottom: Tory Burch Ribbon Flip Flops $168, Superga Cotu Mules $65, Ugg Cahlvan in chestnut suede $100.

And finally , I told them i love Nordstrom's linen scarves.. and shared this one as an example. They don't always have the same stock but this time they did! It's on sale and is a definite purchase. $29.40

I did not add anything to my trunk-- but they do have a selection of summer accessories, jewelry, shoes, bags etc... socks/underthings.. cosmetics/lotions/blankets, etc. i just didn't see anything i wanted this time.

I will post again when my trunk arrives... it generally takes 3-5 days.

I saw your previous post and ordered that blue tunic. Received it today — love the fabric! It’s huge but i still like it. :) Never shopped Nordstrom before, but now i need to check their linen scarves. lol!

Love the flipflops; i had to look them up to see them better. Such a pretty color.

I like the jean jacket too. I have a light wash one, and I like to wear it with sleeveless summer dresses. Seems to work with everything.

It's interesting, i'm not sure if I buy clothes every month or not ... I prob do. DO they have a decor Trunk Club? haha

Thanks for sharing your trunk, Funkyart. i shop Nordstrom online often, but since i am retired dont need near as many clothing items as previously. It’s still fun to see what others are buying and what’s new.

I love those Ugg chestnut loafers and might look at those for fall. Good color. And well….shoes. My downfall.

LOL.. You can set up whatever frequency works. I don't need it monthly-- especially now that I am permanently teleworking.. I have kept it monthly because it's been a nice pick-me-up.. and I don't get out to the stores. I dont always buy something but usually there is ONE thing I like.

There are some cons.. but what I like most:

• I have found some new brands that i love
• it's been helpful to try out styles and figure out what works-- especially since I lost weight.
• Biggest bonus for me? They schedule pick up of the return trunk right at my door.

Party music, so glad you found some things you like! Do you mean the tiered dress from the previous thread? I love how big it is! Another secret.. I also love Free People! I have a couple of tops that are similarly loose and flowy.

Outside.. I am on the fence with the Ugg chestnut slip ons but I was certain I would NOT buy the summer version but I love them.

PS. I wasn't ignoring anyone, i see to get new posts out of order!

Funky I would have wanted that gunmetal color, too but the tan is a close second. couldn't agree more about cut out shoulders - no appeal to me at all.

<smacking head> Oh right, Party_music! I did show them on the trunk club thread -- but i bought them directly from Nordstrom. (hence my confusion). Truth is, they are a little long for me .. but i love the easy look.

haha, definitely long/big and the cuffs are rolled up twice. lol! Looks like I'm wearing a giant blue potato sack, but it's so comfortable that I'll keep it. :) I figure I can shorten the tail after washing and checking for shrinkage. Did yours shrink after washing?

I wonder why the sleeves are so long?

I used to send a lot of things to get rehemmed etc. now if it doesn't work, I send it back.

The sleeves are long because I'm short and these shirts don't come in petite.

I haven't worn/washed mine yet-- I just hung them with tags on as the fabric is a little heavy for our humidity. I just ran and tried on on again. Definitely not as long on me-- and the sleeves hit right at my hand, though i would roll them anyhow.

You might like the other style.. which is shorter overall and in the same material (though the sleeves are same length). FWIW.. i love the oversized one on you if it isn't too much for you!

And i love that it is all cotton!! It's so hard to find 100% cotton in anything but a tshirt these days.

Ty, Funky!!! :) I LOVE the fabric of this shirt -- it's more substantial than I was expecting and oh so soft. I've been looking for a tunic to replace a faux suede tunic in a similar blue color that I loved, and I've wanted another Henley, and this shirt is like a combination of those two things. I'm used to clothing being very loose-fitting, so it's what I prefer.

Side note aka PSA aka hijack. I recently ordered these 3 items from Athleta and I love them (and they all fit!).

I also have this wrap, and gave one to DS’ GF for Christmas, who also loves it.

I'm back in the office now and looking for stuff to wear in public again, now that we can! I bought far too much loungewear!

Love that cardigan, Sue! I keep meaning to give Athleta a try-- my sister loves their skorts and leggings. I love Beyond Yoga leggings but Athleta has many more styles (and there's a brick and mortar here).

Mtn, ha.. I *needed* to up my casual/lounge wardrobe else I'd have never changed out of PJs these last 18 months!

We're permanently teleworking now so I should be able to skate by with what I have for awhile. I'll go into the office.. but not likely more than 2-3 x a month. Now it's time for a closet purge.

Ah... well, i can get the gunmetal color from Nordstrom direct. This just allows me to see the quality. To be fair.. i have received this bag IN gunmetal about a year ago. I didn't want to spend the money for an unstructured tote att the time... now I am reconsidering. The tan will let me give it a try before i jump on the color I want.

That's part of the beauty of trunk club-- it is an easy way to try things out.

My trunk arrived this morning-- it was to arrive yesterday but extreme weather/thunderstorms delayed it.

I thought I would keep at least 3 items (TB ribbon flip flops, the Eileen Fisher long sleeve Tee and the scarf.. but I am only keeping the scarf. So sorry, this was not the best trunk to start sharing with you all-- but that's how it goes. Sometimes I keep 3-5 items.. and sometimes 1 to none!

I won't walk through each item but will target a few reasons I returned the rest.

Shoes:

• The Tory Burch flip flops are adorable but run small. I am a solid size 10 in most shoes-- 9.5 in some limited brands. I should have known better-- but all my Tory Burch shoes are either 10.5 or 11.
• The Ugg shoes are nice-- but make my size 10 feet look like 2 bricks.
• The superga mules are a favorite style-- but in the mules, they are too wide/too big to stay on my feet. The length is fine.

Tops:

• The Eileen Fisher is not the shirt i thought it was-- this is a thin jersey/nylon. I thought I ordered the 100% cotton. I swapped this for one they suggested so totally my error.
• The Vince button down is a great fabric.. light weight but nice quality. The lapel was just too big in such a lightweight fabric. It looks sloppy (perhaps because i unbuttoned it pretty far-- but that's how I'd wear it)
• BP 100% cotton sweater - as i suspected it is too short and too wide. It is a nice soft cotton but it cuts me right at the belly and so emphasizes that area.

Accessories:

• Leather Tote - it is just tooooo unstructured. I love the soft leather but i fear i would beat it up too much. Also, it had a terrible smell! I am not overly sensitive to smells.. i have never provide feedback on anything being smelly .. but this was bad and not a leather smell.

I did order the Athleta cardigan Sue shared above-- in the same violet blue color. Hoping it works out well.

My trunk will be picked up tomorrow-- next one is scheduled for mid-August. I will definitely be looking for some fall transitional pieces.
