Help me help my plant to branch out
Comments (29)John, I love how your scheff looks! I really like the thick trunk, thats what I'm trying to achive with mine. I want it to be bushy but I want the lower half to have a thick trunk so that its stays sturdy. Great Job! Pug, your mango tree looks great! It doesn't even look like the same plant! How long until you think you'll be eating yummy mangos? Housplant, I love maple trees, I bet your neighbors are very lush! As for my scheff, there hasn't been much change. No new growth after its burst of growth when i prunned. But the new growth in the photos above have grown about as big as the mature leaves! Its looking great! I'm just curious as to why there is no new growth. Possibly its dormante after the burst of growth and plus its winter so...you know how it goes. :) But if anyone has any other ideas as to why theres no new growth...shed a light! Comments (2)Put your address in suncalc.net . You can look up the path/height of the sun for any day of year. Sun is lowest in the winter, so where ever you had good light in the winter you will for sure have it in the summer....See MoreHelp me decide whether I should make this new hosta bed.
Comments (46)Jon - I see what you mean... those have obviously been there quite a while. Mine are pruned/limbed up like trees and create more of a true canopy. I just finally got all my hostas planted, and under the redbuds I ran into a few roots, but it wasn't bad. My trees are only a few years old though. We'll see how they do. NHL - Maybe it's a place that would be better for just some sun-loving shrubs....?...See MoreDave in NoVA • N. Virginia • zone 7A
