let’s see your landscape!
Comments (4)We are in the PNW and growing hydrangeas is not difficult due to the rain, moderate temps and angle of the sun. Zone 7 - 8 is perfect and fossils of hydrangeas are quite common - so they have been growing here for millions of years. Most of the following photos were taken the last few days - so they are going dormant. You will also see many small pots and plants that will be sold at our garden club plant sale in May. My style of landscape is 'the one with the least amount of soil....wins' lol It is also called layering, and possible because we don't have to protect in winter, or worry about mildew - so we can grow them very close together. Anyway - that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Back garden, Asperas, Lady in Red, Pia, and Nikko Blue in back - planted to hide fence. Aspera, Serrata - Beni Gaku, Oakleaf, new serratas still in pots. Other side of garden, Aspera, Mac. Kluis Superba, New Serratas Miss Saori and two Kiyosumi Along the driveway, raised and shaded under vine maples Hydrangeas and hardy fuchsias are great companions....See MoreIt’s been a long time.... let’s see your stash.
Comments (20)lafdr, Yes. Guilty! Hoarder of laundry products. I can't speak for the others, but it's my quirky little pleasure for some odd reason. My supply makes me happy :) My goal, is to get down to armjim's supply, if I could ever not have to try out the next one, the better one, the new one. I could easily (and happily) live with just Tide powder, stpp, oxygen bleach, Borax and dryer sheets (I don't use liquid fabric softener). Not pictured in my photo above is my supply of backup powder detergent in case of powdergeddon, which are extras of my usual powders like Tide, ALL, Mexican Ariel. There's been talk of manufacturers wanting to discontinue with powder detergent and give us only liquids to use. I could not imagine not having my powder detergents anymore. This possibility fuels powder hoarding....See MoreUgly bathroom- let’s put some lipstick on the pig
Comments (20)I noticed that the “toe kick” was the same material as the floor molding, but with it painted white it makes the cabinet look as if it is floating above the floor. Although the rest of the floor molding is white, my eye accepts that as floor molding. I find that it is somewhat jarring to have ithe toe kick area white as I think it should be part of the cabinet and to bring the eye down to the floor as part of the cabinet....See MoreLet’s have some fun! How about a Hosta Leaf identification challenge?
Comments (27)Indianagirl, #8 is Neptune ben, #2 is Ambrosia newhostalady, #5 is First Frost……I shot a picture of an unusual leaf on the hosta with a wider border than usual still looking for: #3, #4, #6, and #9.. Remember, #3 & #9 are Giantland hostas. Those of you who see my posts regularly will probably know these two. #6, I will change the hint a bit, think ocean movement and person moving fast. I am looking for guesses from ken, tjusaga, lindaliana (try again); steveduggins, oursteelers oursteelers, utog and others I can’t think of right now…… debra...See Moreundertheoaksgardener7b
