That suits my taste well, but as with everything related to this new house, I was second-guessing myself. There are SO many decisions to agonize over! Teacats, what a lovely picture you paint! Green and white, definitely. Orange is a bit too bold for me, but a warm coral or salmon, yes! Ellen, thanks for the link. I'm going to spend some time looking at the photos. I'm not sure what kind of fabric I want to use for the windowseat cushion. Perhaps a stripe, casual botanical, or something solid but with some texture. My choice of living room furniture will impact that decision. Again, thanks for your feedback.

Sparklekitty, hmm... Not surprising that your hubby went with blue... #1 favorite guy color! Personally, I think the green toned down to a softer look with gray would look better tho... Your subway mockup does look clunky, because it looks stacked instead of running bond in the picture. Try doing something that is closer to your kitchen cabinet colors and you will notice a big difference. We have shaker style cabinets and drawers in a warm butternut finish on alder with 2 by 8 glass subways and they look great together. ;) While I do love the colors and tiles that jterrilynn has posted, I am pretty confident they won't work in your kitchen. Your kitchen colors are more calm and needing gray-based colors to complement them. Those tiles are pastel and iridescent and thus shiny. The hexagon shape, still reads country because of its shape. Take a look at the finished kitchen blog and look at the mosaic backsplashes. Most of them become a design feature in themselves. I believe using a mosaic tile would totally change the look and feel of your kitchen from calm and serene that you are going for. I do understand about loving color and boldness, I am a fused glass artist! My DH, KD and ID all kept telling me to tone it down and simplify my designs, sigh... and they were right! Someday, we will be done and I will be able to post pictures! Ultimately, it is up to you and your DH tho... Good Luck!

i like your bathroom, especially the wood and counters! I would change out the light fixtures, faucets, and paint color to something lighter with color with more modern shapes. You can match it to a new bath mat. Your cabinets are shaker style and dont match your doors, but it would be hard to change out doors without changing them through the entire house. That style of door is in every single tract home built in the last 25 years.

Some ideas: If this is an option, I’d pull the table away from the wall a bit more and get a fun MCM buffet. (It may not be space feasible, I don’t know what’s around the area.) An area rug. Not necessarily this particular style or size, just wanted to show how it anchors the table and chairs. As mentioned, colorful artwork. Maybe two pieces of art, hung vertically.
