Flooring Design Dilemma Kitchens

Looking for flooring color suggestions

Planning to update flooring all through the house with Luxury vinyl plank. Currently have tile in kitchen, laminate in living and carpet upstairs.I am looking for suggestions on what color goes best with my existing kitchen. Have 2 kids and a dog, looking for something that is easy to maintain as well. Unable to decide between going with light colors or dark.

I suggest light, although I don't have a specific color name in mind. Dark, though pretty. with kids and a dog you will be cleaning far too often, shows everything.

Having had both light and dark kitchen floors in my lifetime I maintain that they show dirt equally well. It’s a kitchen, you have kids and a dog, expect cleaning. Don’t intend to offend, just be real.

I agree, what you have is too pink toned. It clashes with everything in your kitchen. I would take a chance and go with an actual color, like a light greenish color, or a light bluish greenish color. I dont mind the color of the cabinets, so if they looked a bit more yellowy orange, it would be fine with me. I do like the side splash and wouldnt remove that. I think it would look unfinished without it, and also would look off balance with the opposite side of the doorway splash. Your kitchen looks very homey. Love the few things, I can see on top of the cabinets, although, am pretty sure, someone will post soon, that they should be removed. Not sure what it is these days, with these boring, neutral everything kitchens. Kitchens should be a happy place to work in.

Can You Put Laminate on Stairs? You can put laminate on stairs, and most laminate manufacturers provide nosing pieces that fit onto the front of the tread. Sold separately, they fit with the regular laminate planks and go on the edge of the stair tread to provide a clean look and continuity between the tread and riser.

BTW, for the price of this vinyl, you could easily do engineered wood flooring and have a better investment. Wood floors, the right kind, do just fine w/kids and pets.
