Entry way and storage bench
Comments (10)bestyears--> those hall tree storage benches make a lot of sense, but I have my doubts about how it would look in our small home. The spot I'm looking to fill is almost directly across from the font door and can be seen easily from the living room. I need something that is not bulky or imposing because it's a small wall (four feet wide) next to a built-in cabinet that houses an aquarium and supplies. Also we have 8 foot ceilings. I don't know that I like the idea of walking in and seeing people's coats, backpacks, purses or whatever hanging on it. I would see it because the front door/entry space is in the middle of the house and we walk through there all the time to go from bedrooms/bathrooms to common spaces, etc. I really want something that looks light yet substantial, but not imposing, and can store the living room blankets. Although I like the idea of a wooden bench for practical reasons, I'd rather provide something upholstered. What about this bench, in microfiber red? I like red b/c that's my living room accent color so it would tie in well. Here is a link that might be useful: red bench...See MoreWould a bench or chair &small table look better than console?
Comments (12)I don't know your style but this would be a good place for a bench that the style is more unexpected. You could also add a colorful cushion if you wanted some punch of color. Because of the window and the door I'd probably stay with a backless bench for less busyness. Don't know your size needed but just to give you some food for thought below. As far as a rug. Take blue painters tape and tape it on the floor to give you a sense of size needed and if you like the shape. I'd get the bench first as that could change your feelings as far as a rug shape and pattern....See MoreBench or cabinet in entry?
Comments (400)That’s the chair! There is damage on the edges and glued parts, but for $50, I’ll take it! So, the floor lamp doesn’t fit behind the piano in the center of the windows, but do you like it in this corner? Also not sure if the olive chair should go in the corner, or where the blue chair is (I moved the two white chairs back together). Or some other combo?...See MoreHow do I put drama and modern decor into my curved staircase entry?
Comments (9)You’ve created a nice transformation in there! Lovely. What are some of your interests? I like the idea of a floor or table sculpture. Do you like animals, trees, abstract, metal, glass, etc, etc? This is 76” tall …. Is that too organic? Here’s a wonderful horse (table top): Lovely blown glass: Great colors: Beautiful Murano: Unique furniture: Just seeing what your likes are to narrow it down. So many possibilities. I’d go to some local art fairs, blown glass studios, and look up works by local artists, too, to get something even more unique....See MoreSunshyne
