Whether you can and whether you should may be two different matters. I would be afraid of scratching the glass, and because the pan is heavy and perhaps unwieldy, you could even break or crack the glass.

Yes, but I believe it needs to have a flat bottom, no ridge around it. Check with the manufacturer of the range about that. I've had glass top ranges since the late 70's, and used cast iron a lot, until the last few years, as I can no longer handle the weight of them.

Lars is right about what he said, but but if you lift a a pan instead of dragging it across the stove top, you won't scratch it. I don't think you're supposed to drag any type of pan across the stove. Having said that, I use mine all the time and I try to be careful when picking it up, but accidents do happen. If your stove is new and pristine, you may want to only use your skillet occasionally and be extra careful. My stove is old and I need a new one, so I don't care very much.

It's easy for my large old cast iron pan to tip when I'm lifting it, IMPE, because the handle is smaller and doesn't provide enough counterbalance.

I use one on my glass top stove. My skillet is a a Griswold that my mother received as a wedding gift over 70 yrs ago. It has a flat bottom. I had another one with a ridge on the bottom that I gave away because I couldn't use it.

You aren’t supposed to use copper bottoms pans on glass? Why not? We have one with a copper bottom, it’s one of my favorites to use. uh oh!

I use mine all the time, in luding a big heavy 12” one one. i am very careful and never slide it. The 12” skillet has a lift handle opposite the long handle which makes it much easier, sort of like lifting a casserole dish.

I use all different sizes all the time

I use it on mine, but only after DH took his grinding wheel to the bottom of it to eliminate any burrs or roughness.

I have five cast iron frying pans and a glass/ceran stove Been using them for over 20 years. Just don't drop on on it, or you'll lose your cooktop.
