Flooring for living room for high traffic.

Hi everyone. My head is spinning! We are replacing our very old living room carpet. It is the main hub of the house with high traffic. Dirty construction boots, pet messes like cat and dog puke/pee. Plus my disabled mother spends most of her time in the living room and uses a rollator (walker with wheels). I have researched flooring options for weeks and I’m still not sure. I know laminate is durable but I also don’t want it to look cheap. Also, I like the look of some of the engineered hardwood but some of the water resistant veneers or so thin I’m skeptical of their durabilty. I’ve looked at Aqua Guard, Smartcore, Hyrdi HDPC, Cali, Bruce Hydropel. I also like the idea of being able to refinish the floor down the road if needed. Please, any inputs are appreciated!
