Is this too much root flare exposed on my Japanese maple?

It keeps becoming more and more exposed as I water it. I set a hose by the rootball and let it trickle for about 20 min. Should I cover it back with more soil? Reason I’m asking is because I know trees like part of its root flare exposed for more air and better drainage.

Also, gardengal its been weeks since I last asked about my Osakazuki being red but its actually turning redder and its summer! I thought it would be green by now. Does this indicate theres something wrong with the tree? I have the tree about 6 in high off the ground with soil mounded over to provide better drainage in my clay soil.
