Hi Chris, I don't have any experience with Poinsettia cuttings, I tried it a few times, and it didn't work for me. Others might have success tips for you. As far as the after Christmas deals, if I had to "guess"? I would say yes...your chances are very good at getting great deals on Christmas plants after Christmas. Especially with the economy being so bad. I would guess some people aren't going to be buying Christmas plants and would opt for something else "more useful" as far as presents/decorating goes. Even when the economy was good, I always get great deals, at least 50% of the day after or sometimes a day before Christmas. I have purchased Points or C. Cactus at half price with a pretty good selection. But then again the market and the area you live in makes a LOT of difference...Just my opinion. Merry Christmas everyone!!

Hello! I'm growing my first crop as a Greenhouse/Nursery student this year and we do Point Trials for some breeders. Thought maybe you'd be interested in seeing some new cultivars and their progress so far, so I'm posting a link to our site. Is anyone still there? I just want to say good work to all that posted with their points. I too am a beginner with poinsettias this year. I bought two and now one has started growing even with its red bracts and a fair amount of original leaves that it was bought with. I am so excited.I cut it back to about 8" last week.(it was probably a bit premature.)Now it is starting to produce all kinds of leaves and really looking good. The second point that I have is still just "there" neither growing nor dying. I have moved it to the same window that the first point had so much growth in but it is still dorment looking.(which is fine since I hear they need it.) If it doesn't snap out of it by march shoud I cut back it anyway and bring it out of "dormancy?" It still has it's red bracts but almost no green leaves. Ninecrow how are your two poinsettias doing? Do you let them go dorment after flowering? thanks
