What color to paint front door?
Trying to figure out what color to paint the front door- the door is made of Mahogany wood & has some vertical slat design in the middle. We will have 2 frost glass sidelights as well on each side of the door. I am thinking Tricorn black, a light gray, or dark gray? Or any other suggestions? Would it be too much wood hues if we kept it the natural color? I can’t decide.
Interior: We wanted to keep it the natural wood color for the front door but both sides of the front door will have a wooden picture bench on the left; and wood stair storage to the right, so we are worried its too much wood. The interior has black light Fixtures, ikea green-gray bodarp cabinet, and interior Snowbound white walls. All our doors are also Snowbound white, however our sunroom door trim door trim will be matte black. Fireplace is concrete with some light patches. Some photos provided.
Exterior: We just painted the exterior siding (SW Cadet as the main color & SW gris as an accent color on the left).

What color to paint wood front door on red brick house?
Comments (6)Using DHs work historic work building for inspiration, I've decided to go with.... - Red Brick house (this color stays! LOL) - All trim Medium-dark slight bluish gray. (not institutional looking). Including window molding, door trim, eaves, etc.. - Sandy-beige, deep warm cream color for door. Now, I've just got to FIND the above mentioned door color. Comments (23)@Jilly Hi everyone, the brick in in .. YAY (it is still under the curing process in the photos so does look a little dark in the photos) and it looks soooo much better than the interior orange Home Depot moldy tile .. so now on to the door. We do have a new door which we had custom made to replicate the exact original door and will install the original stain glass and add the screw details (that were painted over) and we had it custom made using sapele, so we are now thinking of leaving it in its natural state/color and using a clear stain to protect ... thoughts everyone? I have attached a photo of the new door (please excuse the cat litter box in the room it is being stored it LOL) and a photo of the old door showing the detail as well as one with a sample piece of sapele propped up. The threashold will also be sapele (hubby wants a hard wood and definately not white due to traffic although I think marble might be good haha) and I assume the side "panels" (no idea what they are called - the panels that are on the sides that meet the door as the door is set in 6" and you can see what I am referring to in the 2nd photo showing the close -up of the brick) will also be sapele but could paint them white if it is a better choice?...See MoreAnnie B.
