A yellow front door is always cheery. BM Hawthorne yellow is nice. Or a Kelly green door would be great!

Not a pro. The first thing that occurred to me when I looked at the picture of your house was that a peacock-blue door would look really pretty on it.

I like the yellow.

I think my husband wants the glossy black but everyone in our neighborhood is sooo boring about color they don’t use much on their homes. It’s an old neighborhood and no one does any fun colors. Barely even any red doors. I’d love to do a fun color on the front door.

My house is a gray with green undertone (BM Horizon Gray) and my front door is a yellow. Many neighbors told me they liked it and two had their doors painted yellow after seeing mine. Yellow brightens the entry.

Here are some Benjamin Moore yellows I like.

What colour is it currently? I'd go with glossy navy. Softer than black and pairs well with grey and white. Your roof is black or charcoal? Yellow is nice as well. The one you chose veers towards gold (on my screen) and has enough "heft" for your front door, imo.

Love yellow. Take it to the next level by planting daffodils in the spring, yellow chrysanthemums in the fall, yellow annuals in the summer. Either in the ground or in a large pot. If you plant shrubs, consider yellow blooms e.g. forsythia, potentilla, a climbing yellow rose. Or plants with yellow variegated leaves such as hosta or euonymous.

I would also fix whatever is going on to the left and right of the door . There are these little windows on top with a wood panel filling up that space . This wasn’t framed correctly and look unbalanced . My want to consider double front doors . This is a nice looking house .

You have a great look to your house and have the luxury of going with almost any colour for your front door. If you want bright yellow, go with it. If you get tired of it, try something else - it's an easy fix. But I agree with George, your sidelites look strange with the tiny windows. Painting your front door a bright colour will draw attention to your sidelites so you might want to take of it before you paint.

They are going to be sanded and painted. They aren’t done wi the paint job yet was just showing the color! We love the sidelights. That’s the original look. House is 1915!

Yellow would look fabulous on that style house and its new colors. Go for it.

Maybe just a shade or two brighter than your kitchen yellow.

Blue!

Not going to do blue bc so many houses in our hood are a shade of blue or are black. No one is yellow. I’m a fun type of person who wears crazy Terez pants etc so the bright yellow fits my personality.

They still have to come back and finish up and do another coat of paint on the door LOL but it’s coming together almost done. Also got a new lantern post head.

I thought I would hate it. Lol But I actually like it! And now when people come to visit, you just tell them, “We’re the house with the yellow door, can’t miss it!” 👍

Yes kiffkat that’s exactly what i told my husband that it will be the total identifier for our house!

I’m not sure the exact color. The painter had it in his shop. He said it’s called “safety yellow”. It was between this and the Marblehead gold. So not sure the color but i do like it!!!

Black eyed Susans would look wonderful. These are at my parents' house. Easy to grow from seed then they return every year, native plants so the bees love them, long bloom period.

I’m actually originally from Maryland and black eyed Susan’s are the Maryland state flower! So we def should plant them. Do they get planted in spring?
