Roses "D"
Comments (46)I don't have many "D" roses, but I will add some to this display of eye candy, especially that picture of Delilah. That one looks good enough to be a real prize winner possibility. The first one on my short list is the hybrid musk Dancin' in the Wind. It blooms well in the spring, but anything after that can be quite iffy. The next one is Duchesse de Rohan, officially a hybrid perpetual. Once it gets old enough, it does repeat bloom fairly well. The next one is a solitary bloom on the HT Dainty Bess peeking out from among the leaves. Occasionally, the HT Duet Supreme had some nice flowers. Below was one of them. The last one for this group is one of the very first roses to win the AARS award. It is the HT Dickson's Red. I hope you will like these also....See Moresome photos to share

Comments (5)Great thread, Msgirl !! That way when people google Distant Drum, this thread will show up. The title of the thread helps folks to google for info. Too bad I didn't take a pic. of Distant Drum bed at Chicago Botanical Garden .. there were at least a dozen of them .. all with perfect foliage !! Their Distant Drums are grafted on Dr. Huey, which are more vigorous than own-roots. Folks in HMF report Distant Drum being wimpy & disease-prone as own-root....See MoreWhat goes with Distant Drums?
Comments (18)Maybe I'm mentally color blind ... but in my chaos gardening approach, I've never really thought about what colors go with which - I take size into consideration, but never color. When I meander through the garden, I have yet to look at roses proximal to one another and think - ooo, these rose colors clash, or don't go together. Mother nature is rather chaotic herself, and roses are so intrinsically beautiful. Maybe I'm bizarre, but I think every color combination is beautiful....See Morestrawchicago z5
