Hi Willa, To work well, the top and bottom tracks need to be parallel and solid. I do have a wooden base under the steel GH base, and that might provide some stiffness to the bottom track. One idea is adding an extra brace to the frame right over the top of the doors, to stiffen up the top track. That seems to help the doors operate more smoothly too. We just added a piece of oak we had, but others folks have used a piece of EMT or aluminum angle in the same spot. The idea is to help prevent the top track from sagging at all if possible. (click to enlarge) Also, this is a good thing to check...there's a small illustration at the bottom of page 15 of the manual, labelled Side View. (Shown below.) This shows you that the small black plastic clip Part 51 has to be guided onto the bottom door track so the small vertical part of the aluminum track is actually threaded up into the vertical gap in the center of black plastic part 51. If you do it right, the bottom leg of the black plastic "L shape" goes down the front and under the L-shaped aluminum door track, as the illustration shows. If you don't install it just like the manual shows, it's actually possible to install the doors so that the black plastic part 51 is just sitting on top of the door track, sliding along in the small valley there. Although your doors can function (sort of) this way, they can also fall off, since they're not truly captured at the bottom in the manner the kit intends. My doors can't even be pulled off the track, top or bottom. I've honestly never seen anyone comment that the wheels can be pulled off the door itself, and there really shouldn't be that kind of pressure on the door to cause that at all...it makes me think something else is wrong with your door tracks (problem with your bottom track rising up?) or, with the black clip not being installed quite right, as in the illustration above. I had a similar situation and I ended up not doing medicine cabinets at all. Medicine cabinets, in my view, seriously limit your flexibility. If you have any ability to build a tall, narrow cabinet somewhere else, you can just do a framed mirror and cut out holes for the sconces. I think that two is plenty for 60". It might be nice to put a soffit over and sink lights into the soffit to add some overhead light. You also might look at the pendant lights. Take a look at Robern's website. They have pretty cool cabinets that open up like a garage door. They show them with the pendants hanging in front.

Stinky, I've mentioned it so many times on this forum that people are probably getting sick of me, lol. I can't stand decorating the rooms with 18' ceilings. My last house only had one of them, but here it's the foyer, living room and great room. Did you see my recent post about the different color moldings? That shows the decorated model of our house. While I think I've come up with some inexpensive ideas for wall art, it's a shame to me to have to buy something large to 'fit a space' rather than something smaller that I truly love. My dream home would have 10', at the most, 12' ceilings. I am getting quite anal about decorating my dining room. Bought an expensive French Heritage table and want to splurge on window treatments. This is because it's the only 'normal' size room on the first floor. I'm not counting the kitchen because as nice as it is, they crammed so many cabinets in it that there is no room for art. No wall space at all. Les had a great idea to take the "odd little corner cabinet" (her words, lol) down as it is off center and really serves no purpose. DH was amenable to that. It's one area that I compromised on because DH just loves the high ceilings, maybe because he's 6'4", but I couldn't do it again. We'll be staying here until we retire.

Caroline I don't live in Rapid City. I live N of Pierre. Its even closer than you think. Someone mentioned a humidifier. I can tell you right now it makes a huge difference. My DH keeps telling me, he can't believe how much warmer it feels in the house when it is on. I think it is the moisture that makes it feel warmer. I can tell the difference right away. The minute I turn the heat on in the fall I start the humidifier. I used to have two of the gallon ones going at the same time. A few years ago I went to a yard sale and someone had one of the console ones. I think I paid about 5 dollars for it. for it. It runs all the time now. Every night I have to fill at least one of the 3 gallon tanks but it is worth it to me. WE have our thermostat on 57 at night and after I come home from work we turn it up but only about to 65
