Hi! Welcome to Garden Web! I thought you might like to know how to place an email link on your member page...so traders won't have to search back for the post when trading. I suggest you go to the bottom of any page here and click on 'Member Pages'. then Edit Preferences. Then using the drop down box, set it to show your email addy to Members only. then check the box to allow others to email you via the forms here at GW. That will place a link on your member page so folks can reach you. You might also want to (while you are there) fill in your state abbreviation...it goes in the same box as the garden zone. So, what hanky-panky are you trying to hide behind a privacy screen, LOL! Willows seek water. If there is any seepage from the pool the willow roots will head straight for it, grow into the cracks and open the concrete. Mother made the mistake of planting a willow near the field lines for the grease trap. All the roots went toward the lines. There are many pros and cons about Leyland cypress but it is evergreen and grows fast. You can order small seedlings from a catalog very cheaply and they wil grow fast. You can buy bigger ones and they aren't too expensive. Plant them close and then as they get bigger, cut out every-other-one.

the blue green stuff. is narmless lichens ... enjoy the show but otherwise ignore ... need a closer pic in the other forum .. as i cant focus on a single needle to decide it its pine or something else ... one problem.. is that it has been topiaried into a non recognizable shape ... so that doesnt aid ID ... i cant understand the last pic ... oh unless its the top straight down ...one thing for sure.. it isnt hungry ... with what looks like very nice soil ... and a fertilized lawn ... conifers are trees... and realy .. once established.. dont need much of anything from us ... though yours of course.. need pruning due to its form ... at this point.. the only thing for sure.. pendula will probably be in its name... it means weeping ... ken

Yes, oriental bittersweet, a vine that will spread invasively via the birds eating the berries and will damage trees with their twining and weight. To tell the difference between American bittersweet (non-invasive Celastrus scandens) and oriental bittersweet (C. orbiculatus) look at where the berries are. In the native version, it's only at the branch ends while on the invasive type they are in the axils up and down the vine. I'd advise cutting it at the base, painting brush killer on the cut surface of the stump, and pulling the vine down to remove and dispose of as many berries as possible.
