Curtain suggestions

Suggestions on how/ where to hang curtains over this window. Currently this window has a curved curtain rod with curtains that go right next to the windows(down to wash in this photo), which means it is never completely wide open like this. I love the look of nothing there...but I definitely need something up at night for privacy.
I'm just not pleased with how the curtains look on the curved rod.
Would it look okay to hang a long rod above the frame?

Absolutely, yes! There are also many other options for bay window treatments. Either Google “ bay window treatments” on Houzz discussions or Google it in images to see the many options.

I would want to add some color, so I see turquoise, I think, so I'd get that color. Could be solid but a print would be nice, maybe ivory and turquoise. While I prefer cotton or a cotton/poly blend, if you're getting readymades, you may not have much of a choice of fabrics.

I am anxious to see what others think. I would dress each window separately. the arch window is the focal point of the room, I'd show it off. Looks like a nice view, draw attention to it. I'd find a different spot for the cabinet and TV. ...any photos from further back or the opposite side of the room?

Kimberly, if you will add more pics of the entire wall & room to show style of furnishings, the Pros on this site may offer specific ideas for “ outside of bay window” treatments. I can only offer that I know there are options but I can’t suggest any as they could!

Actually I think this is a bow window. If you need privacy, you'll need more than just panels. You could do pleated drapes that close by a string. Or something like this:
