We too are considering painting our (white) rollup garage doors. They are an insulated metal/ vinyl construstion. Our house trim is a medium grey, so we are thinking about a lighter shade of grey for the doors. We have seen this treatment applied to other homes in our area (California high desert- SS zone 11) and it can look quite attractive when the colors are chosen tastefully. We have not done it yet because of concerns with longer-term appearance of the paint. Our doors get hot to the touch in the summer and judging by the house paint durability, we expect that the usual latex outdoor paint will not be up to the task. Small patches of peeling trim on the house are not usually noticeable; on a garage door with white undercoat those peeling/chipped areas will stand out sharply. I still need to paint the trim every three years- regardless of the paint manufacturer's stated warranty. I don't relish doing the garage doors too. I have not found a paint (in the shade we are looking for) that is specifically designed for this application. If we lived in a milder climate, I would have already done it. To me, unless you want to do a total color change on the entire house, then the garage doors should just stay as they are. For you to "fix" that house, you're going to have to commit to a total package color change and by that I mean the red brick and the whole nine yards. So if you're not willing to consider that, then just leave the garage doors white and the front door black. There's no other color to paint the garage doors with the rest of the house as it is. IMO.

Maybe just prime and paint the barn the neutral white like on the yellow house trim. Match the shutter color and then when you decide and have the budget you can move forward with the entire change.

Congratulations on your new home - how exciting! I would not paint the walls grey/blue/green due to the orange/yellow wood. Those colors would look nice in your home but may feel a little old-fashioned to you. In my opinion, grey has been overdone and it's time for something fresher. I would paint both the walls and the wood trim the same soft white to give it a more modern feel. The trim is not very substantial so just paint it out altogether. Bring in color with your furniture or art. When you eventually replace the flooring you can think about changing the trim too. Look at Benjamin Moore OC-117 Simply White, or perhaps OC-118 Snowfall White or OC-149 Decorator's White.
