Resurrecting an old thread - I have been considering painting the door trim the same color as the door. I was happy to see this post that said it was stunning - but I can't find any pictures of this at all (other than some wood doors that have wood trim). Does any one have any pictures of door and trim painted the same color, or is there some design reason why this is rarely done?

Thank you. I will be replacing the storm door down the line. For now I’ll be cleaning it up and painting it when I select a door color. Any more color help? I don’t want white. I had great results on painting the interior of the door but having a hard time with a color for the exterior that will pull the eye. It’s the reddish brick that’s throwing me off. I love blues, red and yellows.

I think a coral in a glossy finish would look nice. I like storm doors for the extra protection the give, even with a porch. I would get the same color mixed for metal paint. The blue posts and railing is distracting. White would be so much better. I would paint the porch deck a classic light gray and the porch ceiling haint blue - a blue like the railing is now. Think of doing the upper portion in a hunter green, the siding and the all the trim in white. Here is a house all in hunter green. Here is a house that shows how stunning hunter green looks over white.

I would say yes, same color as the door as they are all part of the same system
