Biscotti - I like lots of chocolate on them! The earthquake was 4.0 and the epicenter was in Inglewood, less then four miles from my house in Westchester. We didn't have any damage, but the windows rattled quite a bit, and it scared me because I was afraid it might be a foreshock. Also, it happened at about the same time of day as the Northridge quake. I think this one woke everyone up in my immediate neighborhood, judging by the response on Twitter.

Unlike the English London from which it got its name, our local London has two branches of a Thames River that meet near downtown, so we have developed several riverside parks. When I was young, growing up near local London, some Canada Geese were seasonal residents, and some still are, but with recent global warming, which is happening much more rapidly in northern areas than generally in the world, many have chosen to live in and near our parks year-round, and have developed for themselves varying levels of reputation among many of the other two-legged users of the parks, many of whom, lacking wings, can't fly (except in winged, motorized cans). Haven't heard of any efforts having been made to offer a system to encourage them to deposit no longer wanted excess body weight in small designated areas when their internal body communications system indicates a need, along the line of the outhouses that humans developed to meet such bodily needs in earlier generations. Quite likely due to the certainty of persons in charge that almost earth-shaking incentives would be required, mainly in terms of offering feed, which would substantially defeat the original purpose ... plus that goose communication systems would probably attract most geese within about 100 miles. ole joyful

It’s a horrible picture, but I got a shot of the blood moon last night (technically this morning). Even though I turned the flash off, it still lightened it up some. The moon was much darker than appears in my photo.
