coffee table styling help, please!
I have not been able to get this coffee table properly styled. Please help! I love the big round tray and I love the moss filled wooden piece but it's really too shallow to sit on the tray. I don't love the books in the tray though the elevate the moss/wood piece. Other ideas are appreciated.

Comments (37)I would consider an ottoman, but I would probably do leather since there are so many upholstered things in there already. In terms of the area rug, we have dogs who like to pee on rugs. Our entire house (except for the basement) is hardwood and tile. As soon as we moved into this house in Feb, we really haven't had any doggie messes. But, I hate how the furniture slides around. And the room is very big and dark brown right now, so it really needs it from the "warmth" perspective. I might try a cheap rug as a tester to see what happens. Comments (5)Check to see if any of the feet are more worn than the others. Gentlely twist the knobs as they may be tighteners. Not likely but there were some furniture that could be taken apart that did use this mechanism. One of the cross braces appears to have a crack in it which may contribute to the wobbly feeling. If you want to keep the tray, I’d put a small to med size clear vase and stem (like the one below right) on it, with the candle and your moss piece. A grouping of artful objects.

On the other side, two stacks of books, but with nothing on them ... or small objects.
These are not the best examples, but just to show stacks of books. Your table is certainly a good size for it.
I think coffee tables — especially in between two sofas — are a great place to display things you like and enjoy.- PRO
