Need front door color inspiration
I’m leaning towards yellow or blue but dont know if either will work with the red brick and black(?) shutters.

Comments (0)I'm looking for paint color suggestions. Front door: Bright, cheerful RED. Foyer: Orange / Terracotta. Master Bedroom: A soothing, calm, blue, and a deep purple. I'll try to post inspiration photos here (2), and 2 pics of my door. One when it was painted SW Rookwood Red (too dark I think), and one as it looks today, stripped, ready for sanding and painting. Comments (1)If the current perimeter wall is in good condition, I actually think I would first consider seeing if the orange vertical stone could be stained gray and, if so, I would forego the expense of removing the perimeter wall and instead invest in creating an amazing modern landscaping design....See MoreFront of house is boring. Comments (24)I'm in the midwest, and I added lots of flowering shrubs, evergreen shrubs, and semi-evergreen plants so that my mostly partial-shady lot looks good when everything else is brown in the late fall, non-snow-covered days in winter, and early spring. Unlike the previous two winters, this one has been light on snow. I love coming and going to the house from the mailbox by the street and seeing a variety of evergreen shrubs and trees of various types and sizes - yews (Capitata, emerald spreader, "traditional"), Canadian hemlocks, Siberian cypresses, azaleas & rhodies, and where I have more sun various lower mugo pines, spruces, arborvitaes and junipers. Actually, right now, the (confined) periwinkle, low azaleas, and hellebore leaves going up my front walk look almost as fresh as in the spring. In the spring I love watching the flowering shrubs come out, and in the fall those with leaves that turn are gorgeous. Once in a while we get deer here, so I do have roses, hostas and daylilies that sometimes get nibbled on in passing, but so far not destroyed. And interspersed among everything are peonies, coral bells, foamy bells, astilbes, wildflowers, dozens of clematis vines, and some other perennials. But I would never be without the beautiful shrubs! 3 years agoRemove the shutters those single ones look really silly and honestly removing them all will make the door color pop I like the green but a biyt lighter i think. This is one of my faves with brick. I also think removing those hedges and just doing foundation plantings would be a better choice.

This is a similar green to the one Patricia posted. Looks nice with red brick like yours.

3 years agolast modified: 3 years agoWhen I was stationed in Lakenheath England ( I am a retired US Air Force Captain), I fell in love with all the colorful front doors that most countryside homes had: all colors of the rainbow 🌈 ❣️
I think a bright pop of color on a door puts a smile on your face and is quite unexpected.
As I get older I am loving more color in my home.
I just had a new front door installed and plan to paint it with Behr color: “Sweet Grass” when the weather gets warmer.
You could paint your front door with just about any color.
