Thoughts on gunmetal for cabinet hardware?

Hi, does anyone have any experience with using gunmetal as their cabinet hardware? Our cabinets in our new build home will be white uppers and light blonde lowers in the kitchen and light blonde in all the bathrooms. Our faucets, towel racks, toliet holder, and light fixtures will be polished chrome. Our door handles will be satin nickel. We are leaning towards a medium blonde hardwood floor.

With all the above, we wanted to try something different for the cabinet hardware (kitchen and bathrooms) and are considering gunmetal, polished nickel, or oil-rubbed bronze (ORB). We like ORB but are worried it will stick out / not really match given we have polished chrome and satin nickel throughout the rest of the house. Polished nickel seems to be a safe bet but we kinda want a bit of statement with the hardware (not just blend in but definitely not look out of place). So, then we get to gunmetal. This was our first choice but then we pulled away from it cause we wonder if it might be too cold looking? Has anyone used gunmetal for their cabinet hardware?

IMO ORB is a dated look and I see nothing that says to use that in your space . I think gunmetal might be interesting but how many hardware styles are available in that finish. I think you have enough metals already so I would stick with brushed nickel for the kitchen in a simple bar type pull. I think if you post pics of the choices already made and the cabinets you might get more help. I honestly do not think hardware is a place to have a staement unless you have a very traditional kitchen. So pics are a must. In your idea books there is not one kitchen with staement hardware so maybe think about this.

Jeffrey Alexander has a cool finish called Satin Bronze. It's not quite ORB and it's not quite Brushed or satin brass. Here is a kitchen I did last year with it.

Because you have center holes for knobs in all of your drawers, you will have to stick with knobs, I think. Everywhere. What about square polished chrome knobs? I think they would look great, especially with your backsplash!

"I think the premise is to have pulls be *no more than* 1/3 the drawer length." I think designers invent "rules" like this just to have rules. I have never paid much attention to such nonsense. There is a limit, of course, to how wide pulls can be. You don't want them to interfere with drawer operation. Other than that, anything that looks good to you is just fine. As for variations in length, don't worry about it. There is no rule that all pulls have to be the same size, although the same general design is good. One thing about pantry pulls. You are probably going to be opening pantry doors with arms full of groceries, so a pull you can operate with an elbow, wrist, knee, or one pinky finger is a good choice.

there is so much cream in the counter top background. I think the brushed warmer metal looks a lot nicer. Honestly the glaze is nothing more than a shadow on that door. Just get whatever metal finish you like. Main thing is cohesiveness w light fixtures and the overall feel. Saying that..mixing metals is more and more. note hood and pendants different finishes..and 2nd one two different metals for faucets even.

Thanks, everyone. Sorry, I should have added pics in my original posts.

The first pic below is what our dual colored cabinets will look like in our kitchen (light blonde for lowers, white for uppers). The light blonde will also be in all our bathrooms. The pic is a bit dark as it was taken at the design center and the lighting wasn't the best.

The second pic shows our engineered hardwood floor selection. Third pic shows the hardware we are considering. the top hardware is a bar pull in stainless steel and the bottom hardware is a monument pull in satin nickel. we saw a gunmetal bar pull at the design center but forgot to take a picture. however, this is Lowe's link as to what it looks like https://www.lowes.com/pd/Amerock-Bar-Pulls-3-in-Center-to-Center-Gunmetal-Rectangular-Bar-Cabinet-Door-Pull/1001169228.

mentioning again that our doorknobs will be satin nickle and our faucets will be polished chrome. our hardware selection would need to be one metal cause the builder can't install different hardware metals throughout the house. so, if we select gunmetal for our hardware, it has to be gunmetal for all the cabinets throughout the house.
