Comments (7)Thank you all for your help! I will defenitely go to Home Depot to try and get that dwarf tree. I agree it makes sense to have it all set for me, with the soil, fertilizer, etc. I cant wait to start. I used to have a wonderful veggie garden about 20 yrs ago! Im 45 now. Since then, I have not had a back yard. I have had really nice house plants though. I think this is a great forum, and you guys sound really supportive and kind here. OH, to the nice guy from Montreal, we almost got there last year, but my daughter was sick and we ended up staying in the Canadian town in ths suburbs just before the bridges to Montreal. We stayed in a Best Western, and never made it there. My boyfriend is Canadian, and haha met him on a Beatle site about 7 yrs ago! He is from Vancouver, Victoria, and Edmonton. I love Canada!Well, I love to go to the Botanic Gardens in Brooklyn Ny and love to go for the Japanese Festival, so that will perk me up too! Ill keep you posted on my tree! I wish you all well! Comments (16)I totally agree with the flaws of satin/eggshell. We painted our last house in satin finish and so regretted it and in our new house we went with flat in EVERY room and semi-gloss on the trim/interior doors. If you go with quailty paint you can get away with flat in the bathrooms. Touchups disappear, and I think the paranoia of flat paint "wiping off" when you clean it is blown way out of proportion. You can't clean it with a steel wool pad, but if you have something that requires an abrasive to get it off, your paint is in trouble no matter what finish you choose. lindybarts--so funny! i have RH flax in my dining room with white wainscotting too. where were you when i was agonizing over paint choices a month ago? haha these pics are outdated, and lighting is poor in many of them which makes the colors read wrong, but here are our FLAT paint colors. FYI at this time, the wainscotting needed another coat of white: We went with Benjamin Moore throughout but color matched all different swatches. Comments (22)Thanks Katz! Wow... sounds like you are in a houseful of chaos. Congratulations! It must be a wonderful feeling being able to "move in." I can't wait! I sent you an email to whatever email address is linked here at gardenweb. One of the questions I had was in regards to the Provenza Old World Collection. That is the flooring we are thinking about. We noticed that the tung oil finish is much rougher than the urethane finishes. Have you noticed that it is more difficult to clean? We are also going to have fur babies on this floor (one of the nice things about that tung oil finish, - quick removal of scratches!), and was wondering about the fur clean up issues. I have heard that those with urethane finishes initially can't believe how much fur "floats" around, especially if they had carpet before. Now I am curious about this rougher finish. Will the fur cling to it? Is it tough to clean? I am thrilled to hear about your experience with this floor and wish you well as your finish your home. Thanks again! :)...See MoreHave Amber/Orange Pine floors- need advice wall color plz!
Comments (1)Photos please! FWIW: K.I.S.S. rules apply. When you have something that is powerful in the room, keeping the walls white can be the simplest solution....See MoreBoxerpal
