Here are some swivel chair ideas and I don’t think angled cabinet for TV would work well in your room. Normally, I would not recommend TV over fireplace but with your “lines of sight” in room and from kitchen area. You might be able to do a pull out swivel TV mount on left side of fireplace that could work. If you have a larger budget for the swivel chairs they come in swivel recliner/rocker too. Not a Pro. Your rushing, if you post a pic of accurate dimensions of the room you will get so many different layouts from the posters on Houzz and one of them will work for you and your needs. I would not make a separate area for the baby and toys in your room, because they out grow the area fast, but I would make sure you have decorative storage to house the little toys, etc. Something that can later be used to store board games, blankets, etc. Think long term. Don't rush, just to fill the room.

You don't have a great shot of the front door and the wall to the left of it, so it's hard to know how this could work. How often do you have people entering from the front door while you are watching tv? If that's the best place for the TV, then I wouldn't worry about walking in front of the tv. I would assume when guests arrive, you're not watching TV and if it's family coming home, they will pass by quickly. Flipping the rooms is a good option, too.

So we love the brick and wouldnt want to cover it up + we could use the extra storage space. We’re also going for a more MCM vibe, given the house is pure MCM architecture and well, we like that style… and so MCM furniture is one way to create that vibe vs cs. just normal modern. The reason we like grey is because it’s a neutral and we’re not a fan of the wall paint providing the color, because you are stuck with it (until you paint again) and it can be over-powering (unless that’s what you really want)… where as we like neutral because it allows us to layer in color and texture, etc. and balance a vibe through iteration. That said, we were considering going with a cool white instead (maybe BM Decorator White), but are unsure… @JustMe - Any specific BM white you like?
