Has anyone used the BM Kitchen and Bath paint?

Not the Aura, this one: BM Kitchen and Bath Paint. I can't paint anymore (sick of it, I'm not very good, and I had leftover money form my Alaska tip that I've been saving), so I am hiring out the rest. I have some BM unmixed REgal Select matte paint left for the bedrooms (need to get a couple more gallons), but I need to get something for the two bathrooms (small). The painters usually use SW but said I could provide my own paint if I wanted. Since they don't normally use Aura paint, I didn't think I should get that.

I don't remember seeing this Kitchen and Bath before. Does anyone know if it's new? Faron???? The vanity area for each is in the bedroom area (open doorway to the bedroom area), and the shower/tub and toilet is in a separate tiny room w/ a door, lighted vent fan and no window. I was thinking the bath paint would be better than the Regal Select.

You don't need the K&B Paint unless you've had some Mold &/or Staining issues. Regal-Select in "Pearl" (think Satin...). TWO full coats.... don't fall into the trap of thinking "1 will do".

Before using anything however, clean the walls good! Use 1/4-cup of POWDERED Dirtex into 1 gal of WARM water. Use a good sponge that doesn't shed & wash those walls!

Let dry & Paint away.

The AURA Bath & Spa in Matte looks GORGEOUS!! Very little sheen. It doesn't look or feel "Chalky" at all! Our Women's-Clothing Mgr put a Light gray in her Lake-bathroom. She absolutely LOVES it!!

They didn't have the K&B one at the store this morning, so the point may be moot on that. This is a condo, and there has been two water leaks from above in one of the bathrooms, so there are currently some stains on the wall and ceiling (popcorn, have sprayed most of those stains, popcorn stays because I can't afford to take it down everywhere). There was 30 YO wallpaper in the bathrooms that I removed and pulled off some of the skim coat, so the walls need re-skimcoating, so that should take care of the stains. I guarantee you there will be more leaks in the future :).

I had bought Gardex whne I was going to do the painting myself since I wasn't sure all the wallpaper paste came off. If we're re-skimcoating everything, is the Gardex really necessary?

Hi, Well, this has been journey for us. The BM Mascarpone was looking slightly yellow next to the quartz we liked. And then the quartz began to look somewhat lavender-ish against the Mascarpone. So of course that led to thinking we needed a warmer countertop. I finally got fed up and took my quartz and paint samples to my local Guiry's. We had used a color consultant there before, and we took our chances in the hopes she'd still be there--and she was. We already have Nimbus on the kitchen walls, with the Mascarpone trim for the baseboards and doors throughout the house. The gal at Guiry's suggested we keep the quartz we like, but go with BM Simply White for the cabinets. I was worried about a new color clashing with Mascarpone, but she assured me they will not only be far enough away from each other, but will complement one another. We took home a large board and painted it with Simply White, just to get a feel for how it will all tie in--and I do believe it will work. Simply White is still warm, but does not appear to have yellow under-tones. I'm still nervous about it all--and we're just in the beginning stages of this entire project, but I am not pulling my hair out any more...at least not yet...haha! A note to remember that color is *so* influenced by light, as les reminded on another thread. We have a beautiful BM light silvery blue in DD's bath, just the most amazing tone but I painted it on a door that adjoins the bath, literally right next to it but different light because it's not lit by daylight directly (the bath has a large skylight) and it comes out reddish gray! Seriously. We have titanium in a hallway and it reads silvery blue. No direct natural light (the hall opens to rooms with windows, but has no direct access to windows itself). Short version: I'd suggest getting a sample, painting it on a board or on some watercolor paper, and holding it up in your space for 24 hours to see what overtones come out. You might be surprised. For instance, enduring's version comes out green because green is the complement of the reddish tone in the cherry. If you have other tones, you might end up with what you want.

Tibbrix- I loved Frappe but it was way too light , especially on the stairwell. Hollykay is correct about Straw Hat having green undertones. Because of living in the woods I already have a greenish light coming in that area so I am finding anything yellow or yellow green goes greenish. While I don't like reddish undertones, I am finding that I need a color to counter the greenish light. I'm also looking at Mushroom by Ellen Kennon that was suggested by Funcolors. I sure don't want to do any worse than the orangey beige I have currently.

Yes, Gentle Cream is significantly lighter than MT. I have been looking at pictures of really bright/sunny rooms that are painted a very light color and I'm liking that look. Very calm and soothing. Many of the other rooms near this room have color - green in kitchen, red in living room, gold in dining room. So, I wanted to go with something more neutral in this room. Trim will be painted BM Vanilla Ice Cream (a creamy white). Not too much contrast against the walls, but that is also what I am going for. Thanks, sayde. I did look at Stone House. I had helped a friend pick that color. It looks great in her house. Not so great in my house. And, I've been through many, many other BM colors. Eliminated them all for one reason or another -- too pink, too green, too yellow, too something. I don't have the luxury of saying it's just paint and I can redo it if I don't like it. This room is very large with catherdral ceilings and I cannot paint it myself. So, this is my one shot to get the color right, and it's very difficult.
