Bathroom Window Placement/Size/Type
Comments (8)The of the window would be 5 ' or greater above the bottom of the tub. it would be difficult if the shower head is on the same wall as the window. It would not have to be tempered if it is where I said. you would want a vinyl or glass block window is think and properly installed. Don't think it see much water if like the first picture....See MoreAccent tile placement for small bathroom with window
Comments (14)Drop the accent tile idea, unless it's in a niche or such, the area is too small to make it look good as a linear feature.. "I'm almost positive window is vinyl" is not enought. Even a vinyl window is an invitation to leaks if not installed correctly inside a wet area...and not knowing is a huge red flag....See MoreNeed help with awkward master bathroom layout
Comments (12)Wow, these are some really great ideas!! @ssdarb I want to try to limit the scope to not moving any walls but your plan looks really great. I want to see if I can square off the closet similar to @Karenseb and sort of combine both of your designs together. The only thing is I am not certain how I feel about seeing the toilet facing me when I walk in and I am not sure if 5"x3" will feel claustrophobic? @Debbi Washburn I also thought about the layout with the tub rotated but still separated from the shower but thought the tub area looks a little cramped. I didn't want to have the tub inside the shower due to additional cleaning of the tub from water splashes since the distance for my shower head to the tub won't be that far (you can probably tell I am the one to clean the bathrooms in the house :P ) @pamal66 I plan to get a free standing tub so that I won't need the surround. It looks like I might be able to do that but the tub edge will be very close to the glass. I am just not sure if I will loose inches due to switching those tiles to quartz shower surrounding. @ssdarb That layout looks cool but I am afraid the glass might be a safety concern for my toddler. Thank you everyone! I am going to talk to my DH about it a bit more with all of your wonderful comments! I will keep you all posted!...See MoreTiny and awkward bathroom. Need layout help!
Comments (2)The best bet to keep costs down is to leave your plumbing where it is. So you won't be appreciably moving the fixtures. First, find out what's in the wall where you'd like to move the door. Then find out why the shower is 3.5" lower than the rest of the floor. Once you know those 2 things, you'll have some idea of what is possible. Then you need to decide what the main use for this bathroom is. If it's basically a powder room that happens to have a shower, your approach will be different from what it would be for a full-use bathroom. For a full-use bath, this is what I'd do: if possible, move the door over consider boxing in the ceiling pipes if possible, raise the shower floor get rid of the framed, glass shower door. Consider replacing either with a curtain (inexpensive and easy to clean) or a an unframed glass shower enclosure (expensive) do the entire floor including shower in the same tile decide if there is room for a vanity instead of a wall sink. If not, determine where other storage space can be created add more and better lighting add an exhaust fan...See MoreNicole Williams
