I did Dal Continental slate floor in the bathroom, with white tiles and a different color slate trim and pencil. I love it. I really like contrasting materials and textures, and the smooth white tiles and the more rustic feel of slate is very appealing for me! Am doing a backsplash as I write in the kitchen which will be white subway and slate border to contrast, too. We live in a more wooded area, so the contrast fits the outdoors as well. I usually treat it as a room. Art (not something too precious though). plants/flowers in a little pots..I like funky things, so if I can incorporate one or two-I'll do that. I love colorful patterned towels the most. I try to keep a candle there-first, candles are nice; second, very helpful if the lights go off. Actually I try to keep a candle or two in every room-I don't burn them often, but they can prove very handy. Would be fair to add that I'm extremely lucky, having two big bathrooms with plenty of light, for the past several years, and a powder room. I have embarrassing love for shower curtains too:) I need only one right now(kids' bathroom), so can't express myself fully lol. Already gave them as a gift for friends and family..five or six time maybe? Poor things. One friend was very happy though. Really been using them for years and all. So I had one fifth of success...)) Wallpaper in a bathroom is my dream. Not going to happen any time soon though. The new space is wrong for wallpaper. Stylistically. I was seriously considering papering new kids' bath only, since it's no style at all-then I arrived to a conclusion it will be a (very expensive) lipstick on a pig. So. I bought a new shower curtain..))

Jamie Ludwig....55 inches between edge door and wall, whole wall 86 long, it is a large space. Thanks for advice about placement; that is my biggest dilemma(where on large wall to center)!

it's busy, so choose really simple accessories. towels and bath mats that have zero pattern to them. I like the black faucets above. consider also a black matte framed mirror with a very simple frame. try a round or arched mirror for a change. OR try a square mirror hung diagonally, to match the tile pattern. it might look great, or it might look cheesy. you could always rehang or return it! and then take a breather and give yourself some time. you might be overwhelmed because it's so new and different. the pic you posted is of a dusty, unfinished room with blue and red tape all over the place. it's going to look so much better when it's finished and cleaned up.
