Bickering will not solve anything. I never thought that CC was so controversial. Maybe it shows that as Americans we have come to not trust anybody so everyone goes by their own opinion. Well in this case it won't work. We have to act now as later is too late. You've heard of the tipping point? It is the point when the weight on one end suddenly becomes heavier than the other and swoosh down the other end goes. All of a sudden. Not only that but to get the board or whatever to go back requires a much greater effort than the tiny change in weight that shifted it in the first place. Such it is with CC. To fix the imbalance in atmospheric CO2 will require the same much greater effort to reverse the affects of excess and furthermore it will take time. Meanwhile the adverse affects are accelerating. Adding to the time and, I hate to say it as I will be accused of being an alarmist, to the disasters. The other end of this dilemma is that we as individuals can only do so much to help. Minor changes. It is only the government that can edict the major changes. Such as putting mileage standards on new cars. Such as resurrecting our trasportation system. Such as putting our money instead of into weapons, for example, into things that will help with the environment. Above all we need a government that will lead instead of impede. I'm not trying to beat anybody on the hear, well maybe I am, but for once put aside your personal bias and trust somebody. I am not an expert in this field but if the accredited scientists in this field say that we are headed for disaster, I think we should believe them. If nothing more do as oldroser said, for the time being act as if was true and wait and see. Be pragmatic, at least.

Your newbie thread is still there--I just clicked on it and got it after a 10 to 12 second delay. The search funtion on Gardenweb doesn't work very well. I think posts need to be at least a few days old before they show up that way. Alternatively you can try to search in Google for it....and I found it that way. I didn't read the whole thread, and honestly can't remember the title of the post but it had to do with opinions. If political opinions were part of that thread, I didn't read them. My opinion was simply: What a boring world this would be if we all had the same opinion on everything. And followed up with pretty much what I said above: how you react to that opinion is on YOU not the person who tries to incite an argument. You can yell at your monitor and not respond, or you can hammer away at your keyboard and give your opinion. Most times, it's easier to walk away. mailfleur03, I have my own FB group: Iphone 11 photo group, and I have one simple rule: no advertising or sell whatsoever. Only those posts have been removed. I've had the group about a year now and while it's still building and slow, people stick to the subject: pictures taken with an Apple iPhone 11 series. I also belong to a "secret" FB group that was started years ago when BHG removed a thread about "Shaving Down There". Best thread EVER! A group of us left the forum and started our own Yahoo Group. Then when FB got popular, we moved there. There's only a few of us, but in the TWENTY YEARS we've been together we have NEVER had a single argument and trust me we talk religion and politics a lot, especially now. It CAN be done.
