another white kitchen cabinet question - thank you!
Comments (3)BM Mayo reads very yellow to me if in a certain light. BM- Dove white.. It reads gray on the strip but it's a beautiful white. I will most likely paint my cabinets this color. I don't think it's gray once painted. White chips can be a bit deceitful in my opinion. Most importantly, make sure you look at the chips in the light that they will be under. Look at them in your kitchen with the lights you'll have installed once the kitchen is finished. I don't know if that was any help, but I hope it was at least some....See MoreSomething pink for AmyLou...
Comments (11)Any nook, cranny and cave around here has SOME pink in it. He really doesn't mind. He says he is old enough and man enough to not care about a color, even if it is EVERYWHERE.... I don't make him wear pink underwear though.... I feel like I should get some credit for that at least.:op...See MoreAmylou! A pink kitchen for you!
Comments (16)Wow—memory lane! I grew up in a very old house where someone redid the bathroom in the 60s—it had cornflower yellow tile (everywhere) with a really ugly brown marble vanity. My first house, built in 1950, had a powder blue bathroom and a kitchen very similar to this one but with orange and avocado cabinets and yellow-pages-yellow walls. When we bought our current fix-a-wreck house, also built in 1950, it had powder blue kitchen cabinets and oatmeal colored tile walls around the entire kitchen. One of the baths had salmon pink tiles/fixtures and the other had mint green tiles/fixtures. Now, my house has a white /wood kitchen and white/gray marble baths and laundry—makes me wonder if some future buyer 30 years from now will think we were all too boring?...See MoreAmylou, I thought of you!!!
Comments (12)Those are adorable! You can do that French '50's thing with the black and pink. :) I have more reds/oranges and pumpkins. Not jack-o'-lanterns, just pumpkins. But I don't have an extensive collection like yours, and my neo-majolica pumpkin tureen is way to big to use except for medium sized company, and even then, it's not completely functional. But I've found my pumpkin Le Creuset is perfect for bread, so I make posy-shaped bread regularly. :) It makes me happy thinking of you using all your pink and heart-shaped cookware all the time. ;) Your SO is a peach. My menfolk aren't really sexist, but I don't think they'd put up with the pink or the hearts on a daily basis. OTOH, one man I used to know didn't mind lacy pinky froufrou bedrooms at all. He said it was nice when the morning sun came in the window and reminded him he was sleeping in a lovely woman's bed. :)...See Morebragu_DSM 5
