Help! Washer Shut Off Valve Location

mynovahome

We have started a bathroom remodel which will include a closet for a stacked washer and dryer. The room will be 44 wide by 45 deep. My husband has had some back luck with flooding in previous homes and especially since this will be on our 2nd floor, we want to be sure we have easy access to the washer shut off valves (will likely turn off after each use). Is it difficult to have the shut off valves located next to the washer instead of behind?

This is the plan with my ideas. Remodeling company quoted $900 for a 'separate shut off valve'. Does that seem reasonable? And does what I have in mind seem like the best plan? If it helps - both the wall to the left of the washer and the one behind it is an outside wall. I'm curious if they'll tell me they prefer to place on the wall on the right but I'm worried the tubes/pipes will eat up more of my storage space than I'd like. And because of door swing I def need/want the washer/dryer on the left side of room.
