I wish that appliance manufacturer's would give us different options. How I would love to see a bronze refrigerator. JennAir had bronze in their line up several years ago but it wasn't well received. It must have been too reminiscent of the old coppertone appliances. Bisque and almond never quite hit the mark and are almost impossible to find. I would think that bisque or almond would look better with creamy white than bright white. I am tired of ss but that is what we are going with due to the lack of other options. Black would have been too dark and I didn't feel white would look good.

Thank you all for your comments so far. I have a white sink now and would never get another. I thought the black sink was something a little different and would look sharp with the white counter and dark cabinets and tie in the other black accents (tinted glass on the hood (Elica Como... on the same wall as the sink) and the pendant lights (Quoizel Spiral Mini) over the island behind the sink. I just saw a graystone sink, which might not be as sharp/harsh as the black that you are all agreeing on. Ohhh the dilemma!

@thinkdesignlive I had no idea that the blues I'd picked out had red in them. I have been in touch with a Sherwin Williams color consultant, and will probably buy paints from her/ get her advice about actual paint colors when it comes to that. She'd also suggested figuring out the countertop first, in order to get it to work with the floor, before thinking about paint colors -- and she was the one who actually mentioned (an unspecified shade of) blue to go with the floor. The other half of my kitchen has a lot of bright colors, so that's another thing to keep in mind. I'd prefer not to have a totally solid color -- after all, butcher block would look nice (right?) and isn't solid. In terms of less busy stone, what about a Aspen White granite or a quartz with a more subtle veining pattern? We've seen Taj Mahal in both quartz and quartzite and though it would probably work very well, hadn't felt drawn to it. I also am liking some of the quartzes with subtle veining (see the top left four little squares in the first picture in the original post) -- would something like that be too busy, and/or are there granite or other natural stone options that are similar (if we decide to go the natural stone route)? I also found this suggestion on Houzz of a less-busy granite that might work with a slate floor - thoughts? -- I do have the beginnings of an idea book, here and on Pinterest -- here are a couple of links to ones I particularly like: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/307863324533778336/ I love the blue cabinets with the slate floor! Thank you again. I am thinking more darker or intense color which would be more cooler. I would definitely get couple of samples to see how they will look with my counter. I think I m actually going to go with the cream/white dove cabinets and charcoal grey island with white/Creme backsplash. In the end if we decide that we have a budget to do something with the floors, which tone of wood flooring or wood like tiles will go with this color choice ??? I personally like dark grey oak floors but right next to kitchen is living and foyer with light bamboo floors!!!!
