Clare, I've read this post before, but I bet I didn't have time to say anything then, because I don't see where I've posted. I thought I did. Anyway, I've been thinking a lot about you, and wish the news was better, that they found something they could cure easily. Maybe the good news is that Parkinsons is getting so much attention now with famous people bringing it to the forefront. There's lots of research going into it. I bet there's improvements in the treatment happening all the time. I'll keep thinking of you. Sally

Hey there ladies its been a while again I need to get my but in gear and quit disappearing but things have been so crazy since the last time I was here alot has happened I had a car accident June 26th at 27 weeks pregnant and had to stay in the hospital for observation to make sure she was going to be okay because the air bag deployed and hit me right in the stomach. after that I was on restricted duty and had a ton of doctors appointments, then to top it all off I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes in Aug the day after my baby shower in fact. IT was all woth it though Eva Paige was born on Oct 1 2008 at 2:30 pm via c-section after 43 hours of labor it was another hair raising event after all that time i was only dialated to a 4 and miss Eva was trying to push herself out anyways so for her safety and mine they took her out through the sunroof as DH says, she weighed 7 lbs 14 oz was 20 1/2 " and has dk brown hair and blue eyes she is perfect. From experience as a physical therapist assistant, back problems in my family and myself- MRI is more definitive. X-rays don't really show soft tissue. You need to be able to see the disks and everything going on around it. Doctors keep you coming back by masking the pain with drugs and also by doing unnecessary tests like x-rays. Demand an MRI and then go from there... try physical therapy first- stay away from Chiropractors unless you know FOR SURE you do not have a herniated or bulging disc.. and even then, be careful, their manipulations can cause a disk to herniate if the area is already weakened- and you have no way of knowing this and neither do they. I'm still not well even after surgery thanks to my wonderful chiropractor. I know several of you may have had sucessess w/ chiros so ignore my rantings if you disagree w/ me!

Glad you got it out! You did the right thing by going to Urgent Care. Many years ago when we lived in LA, I had a wonderful small room off the landing. It had multiple storage closets and a built in counter. It was a perfect sewing room! I used my husband's rug from bachelor days - a Marimekko shag rug in various greens and blues. I told my husband and my children to NOT come in that room barefoot as it was a SEWING ROOM and there is no way on earth to not drop the occasional pin on the floor. With this shag rug, it was difficult to see any that were dropped. Well, of course my husband paid no attention and came in there to ask me something and stepped on a pin. He sat down and pulled it out and that was it...or so he thought. Over the next few days, his foot got more and more sore. He soaked it in hot water and epsom salts. No better. It was now hurting a LOT. So, a week or so later, he finally went to our orthopedist as he was sure he had broken something in his foot. The doctor x-rayed the foot, came back in, numbed the area, and proceeded to remove PART of the pin DH had stepped on. The doctor then said it was obvious that my husband was a math teacher and not a physics teacher, or he would have looked at what he pulled out and realized that the pin had broken and part of it was still in his foot! No, he still went barefoot even where I sewed...
