Have to emphasise the good drainage and not excessive watering. Water it only when the pot feels quite light, then water well, allow to drain thoroughly, and allow to dry out. Good advice also, in raising the level of the root-ball, until it's virtually level with the pot rim, then topping with a layer of coarse grit/gravel, to keep the water from crowding the stem of the plant, which may lead to stem rot.

Hi @Crenda! Thank you so much for the help! Repotting - No, I didn't repot it (it was repotted from a different container to my pink pot by the seller before shipment though). It came overflew with the soil (please see the photo below, I took pictures of every little step because it is my first succulent/plant ^^). To "clean the mess", I went ahead and dump the overflew soil into my blue pot (arrgggg). Roots - How do I tell if the roots look healthy? I took a picture of the root just now. Something terrible happened while trying to take a picture of the root :'( I was trying to get a good angle of the roots and dropped the succulent by accident… I went ahead and put in the overflew soil. You didn't go wrong by buying them at IKEA (I can tell you that!), but I really think it might be the soil. If you can, get some perlite. Wash it, to get out dust, and do a 50/50 mix with perlite and the mix you already have. Note that it will look like a LOT of perlite. Good luck! ~palmsandsnow

Hi, Am surprised it's not been mentioned yet, beyond the other issues that have been discussed. These are very different plants w/ different care requirements, making them incompatible community pot partners. The middle plant is a Thanksgiving Cactus (commonly called Christmas cactus) or here I'll call them TC or CC. These come from tropical jungles, requiring high humidity. Takes bright, indirect light, not direct sun. Sorry to be blunt, those plants in need to be repotted into small plastic 3" nursery pots. Those pots in turn, can be placed together for the same or similar esthetic effect you're wanting w/ that window sill planter. But put bluntly, they won't survive w/out pots w/ holes & corrected soil. The Portulacaria afra (on the right) requires different conditions & I believe, much more direct sun, so it's difficult to satisfy both together given different needs like that. Sorry, can't see it well enough to discuss the stretched plant on the left.
