The second door looks more Craftsman and your house isn't. I think the door needs to be light...even white...to help pull it out of the shadows for more focus. FWIW, the shutters are really too small for the double windows, but it's of course personal preference. Urbane Bronze could work, especially since the stone appears warm in the photo. Is your roof more brown or gray? Hard to tell for sure on my screen. More brown seems a better fit.

Thanks for the input chloebud. What style would you say my home is? More classic? Do you think that the whole door needs to be lighter or would a white trim be enough to help it pop? I realize that the shutters are too small and, honestly, if we had built this house there would be no shutters all. But, alas, they are here and since they are built into the stone, they won’t be going anywhere until we’re ready to redo all of the stone. (I am ready but the husband is going to take some convincing lol) I was hoping by painting the shutters a different color they wouldn’t bother me as much. The shingled roof is a gray with a hint of green. The small roof to the side of the front door is a dark brown bronze.

I like the first one the best.

Consider removing the shutters and leaving them off rather than repainting them. You can repurpose them as a DIY project or donate them (perhaps to Habitat for Humanity).

I, prefer the THIRD door shown. The bottom window of the sidelights is not as low as the first door and it actually seems to be a bit sturdier looking than the first door -- the door and sidelights together are a better match.

Not a fan of the middle one for the front door of your home -- more "casual' ... and, to me, it seems a bit more suited for a back door.

Suezbell, I would love to leave the shutters off but unfortunately they are built right into the stone. If I left them off there would be a weird gap between the stone and the window. I’m hoping i can get rid of them in the future but i figured that painting them could be a quick fix for now.

I’m totally open to other suggestions if anybody has an idea of a different door would fit nicely. I never realized how much stress there is when choosing a new door!

metzger, another door option might be one with glass that more mimics the grids in your windows. I know these photos are completely different (including no sidelights), but notice how the glass in the doors pretty much repeat the window grids. You can do that with sidelights, too. You could have a row or two of glass at the top of the sidelights, and not all the way down.

This is a Craftsman door but it has glass just at the top of the sidelights vs. all the way down the sides.
