Please help with an entry without a chandelier
Comments (4)Sorry, can't help. I have the same questions only I do want a chandelier. My area is 5 x 10 (width). I have a spiral stairway (small) and a balcony on one side. My ceilings are also 2 story. I do not know what the proper width for that area is. My local lighting dealer seemed to have different answers depending on which light I was looking at. Confusing! Good luck....See Moreplease help me choose out of 2 chandeliers
Comments (21)Thanks for your responses. Violet, alas, I like them both equally, so I came here to see if there was a significant preference for one over the other. There are so many I love more, but budget limits my choices. Tibbrix, I like that one, but I showed something very similar to DH, who nixed it, so I had to narrow it down to some we both liked. tomatofreak, DS borrowed my camera and I don't have a cellphone, so I couldn't post pics of my dining room. But my family agrees either choice would suit the room equally. My 30 year old current chandelier (brass plated with glass) needs updating as I replaced 'matching' elements such as brass plated candlesticks and brass tone picture frames, with wooden ones, years ago and wanted to finally replace the chandelier. boo, I agree that these wouldn't throw enough light for a kitchen, but I saw them both lit up on display and they seemed like they'd be ok for a dining room. I often dim my current chandelier, so I'm hoping these will be bright enough if I just keep the full brightness on. I can't use energy efficient bulbs in my current one though, so even on full brightness, the new choice will use less energy. Well, it seems #1 has the majority.Thank you for your help!....See MorePlease help with selecting our entryway chandelier
Comments (12)Here are 3 other lights I am considering: The first is kichler abbotswell 30x30". The second is the Larkin in black that is 18x36. What is everyone's thoughts on black chandeliers vs bronze? We have an open layout so my dining room and great room will have the same finish on their lighting as well. Thank you so much for your your opinions! Lighting is so hard!!...See MoreHelp me choose my front entry porch tile, please
Comments (80)Well, painting our doors is taking much more time than anticipated! Partly bc we decided to take them off to lay flat and spray for a smoother finish. Plus my husband decided to work on building our shed yesterday so i had to wait for help on a few occasions. But we need a shed so that’s ok! Prep took forever bc the doors are not in great shape. And those darn windows! But I got both doors prepped and we sprayed 1 coat of primer on 1 door. But then couldn’t move it right away and then had to hang them before dark! So we will finish this weekend! I’ll post pics when done. Thank you!...See MoreRelated Professionals
