Boy do I need Spring! We are still getting precipitation and clouds most days, but instead of snow, it's rain. What snow is left is getting uglier, the trees are bare, the roadsides are full of sand on the snow, the geese have been relentless at our bird feeders, pooping all the way. Enough already.

This week’s progress on my quilt. Finished the last of the little houses, some of which include family members homes and their pets.

nhbaskets - that is a beautiful quilt. I love the bright colors and all the little details on the flowers. I clicked on the link you included on the Home Decorating discussions forum and I think yours is much prettier than the original. Using the solid linen background really highlights the houses and compass.

Thanks, Marie. I have to agree that the background on the original quilt is rather busy. It’s been interesting to see the different fabrics others are using. Some just as wild and others less busy. Now that I’ve finished all 32 little houses, I need to stitch them onto the background linen. I plan to add trees growing up from the spaces between houses at NSEW. There will also be trees behind the other houses. But that’s another month. Did you see the dog in the door of one of the houses? That my nephew’s shepherd, Ruby.

eld, it does. If I stand still, one will eventually land. (It annoys the heck out of Frank because it slows his walk down)

I often see traces of shelled black sunflower seeds on the road, so I think someone must come and feed them occasionally.

This is my neighbors son who always clears the snow and leaves at my house. I pay him, of course. He is the nicest kid. I really enjoy chatting with him.

murraysmom, I was thinking of that, but we did that fairly recently....I've come up with something else for now... but colors are always on the list of regulars for sure....a very popular theme.

Murraysmom, I don't see how it could not bloom. Wow, that a lot of buds and the two largest ones look ready to pop !

Woodrose, I sure hope you are right!! I have had lots of orchids and only had one rebloom. This will be my second. If I am lucky. :)
