Adaorand, ...feeding hatchlings can be difficult,but if you put a banana peel of some kind of fruit outside long enough to get a culture of fruit flies going,hopefully your little critter will eat them. What are you keeping it in? I would advise setting up a terrarium with some live plants in it. The leading cause of death is dehydration,and they drink droplets off of leaves typically. If the fruit flies are too much trouble call around your local pet stores and see if they have pin-head crickets. a little while back,I had my male out of the enclosure and the sneak went up my arm to my shoulder and then up on top of my head...then he jumped...to someplace I didn't see. I searched and searched,but couldn't find him. A week and a half to two weeks later he turned up after I'd thought for sure that he'd be a crispy critter...and he was pretty close to it. He's back in good health now that he's re-hydrated and fed,so that's a load off my mind to say the least! Sad part is that after he'd been missing for so long,I'd purchased a new male to keep my female company,and you can't keep two males in the same tank,so my new guy is alone in a different enclosure now(poor fella). Before his great escape,the first male got frisky with the female so in due time I may have some hatchlings of my own! Edited to say HI to Purp. HI PURP!! Mn is right. Yes David & Jqpublic, They are reruns but when you are a gardening addicted person who cares if they are. Each time you watch them you may get some info or ideas you might of missed previous. Six, ten, 20 years ago my ideas and style have changed and sometimes there is inspiration in others styles. So for us who can't get enough...get your coffee ready or Tivo. But you have to admit is the only true garden show showing on HGTV these days.

Yes, I left the ornament inside of these, though with some, you wouldn't need to if you didn't want to. As a matter of fact,I designed one that could be used as a pendant by attaching a shell bead to each side. And yes, they are VERY similar to the Bottles of Hope. (I plan to check with local cancer center when we get home next week to see if they have a program like that.) The wish pots were are donated to my favorite charity (The Foundation for Interdisciplinary Research & Education Promoting Animal Welfare [FIREPAW] http://www.firepaw.org ) for the art auction that will be held this spring, so my wish pots will benefit the voiceless. I could almost have a one woman show with all the work I've donated for the auction LOL They are the ones that my clock and Marjan wall sculpture/mirror went to. I've found much more enjoyment in designing and working with my clay when I've been working for the benefit of someone/something else. Does that make sense? I made them all with flat bottoms, to stand on their own. With the exception of my fish bottle, whose bottom is really it's side?? Something like that. Alisa- all your ideas sound good! I like the handle idea, but what about making it like a hanging vase? One that you could (possiably) hang in a window, or on the wall, or even in an open doorway or arch? If you want it to stand, then you do need either a flat edge (doesn't have to be on the bottom - what about making it stand like on an angle?) I like the tripod idea, too! You won't mind if I try it when we get home, will you? I have a image in my mind of combining clay and wire, sort of like vines and leaves to make a stand for a bottle or vase. I've another photo to post to show a couple of the pots open. I'm not sure when I'll be able to get online next, but hopefully it will be before we leave Monday. You know, I was wondering if everyone would know what a puffball is. It's a fungusÂa toadstool of sortsÂround, with no obvious stem. Its skin gets brittle as it ages, and eventually bursts, releasing dustlike spores from which it reproduces. The one I found had just started to crack, and the spores were still inside, intact. A creampuff is different. That's the '96 Chevy Impala SS that I yearn for. :-)
