Spirit of Freedom - At last
Comments (16)Now, I just got an email that Heirloom has this own root rose in stock for Spring shipping. I ordered it, even though I have a grafted one coming from DA already. I'm considering it a scientific comparison primarily. It's not like I have a problem....See MoreCafe au Lait dahlia, Spirit of Freedom, Boscobel & Swirly Pop
Comments (24)@Kristine LeGault 8a pnw I got Swirly Pop from For Love Of Roses when it was a trust worthy nursery. It is no longer, sad... I heard that KandMRoses starts selling Dave Bang's roses but I haven't ordered any from them. @Tina_Dallas I heard that dahlias are as addictive as roses so I told myself don't get too deep into dahlias because my garden is too small, lol. @Glimmer of Hope (9b, inland SoCal) Thank you. Boscobel and Jubilee Celebration are different enough that you will want both in your garden. SoF has average thorn and has more thorn than Bathsheba. Because you have an active toddler, maybe plant it in a spot away from kid traffic. Helen...See MoreSpirit of Freedom in stock at Heirloom
Comments (13)Thanks! I tried Spirit of Freedom and it didn't care for where I had it (Dr. Huey grafted from David Austin Roses USA) so I removed it. I'm going to try again. Own root this time. I also suspect the good doctor doesn't seem to like my particular location due to his lack of root development, but does great within six miles. I also added St. Alban because I love those fluffy, soft yellow, Tea-Noisette-looking blooms and Comte de Chambord. CdC is one I've long considered, but never tried. I will now! Comments (50)Yes Sarena, Amara is a snuggler, but she kicks like a mule when she's having a good dream. I wish Amara was a talker , she is strangely silent most of the time. We have only heard a few deep barks , but she screams bloody murder when she sees neighbor dogs on their walk and can't join them to play. I think Amara would be great waving from a parade float. When she leaps at bugs or her toys, all you see is a streak of flying gloves , her dark coat makes the rest of her really well camouflaged. How did we get such perfect Puppers to love, and be loved by ! I think you are going to be captivated by your new Spirit of Freedom, such a poignant name for a time like this. I hope you get to see some blooms before winter. Maybe because mine was so expensive and took so long to obtain, I am fascinated by every little nuance - the color, fragrance , shape... I wish summer could last to observe the roses longer. There is one more little bud forming . ....See Moresuncoastflowers
